This season has been a tough one! Most people do not understand what swim instructors go through each season.
This summer;
*While I was teaching lessons I learned that my uncle had passed a way!
*One little girl told me that her sister was watching her. I asked her where her sister was while I looked around the deck. Only for her to tell me that her sister was in heaven.
*This summer-one of my past swimmers took her own life at the age of 17. She was dealing with a lot and did not think she could handle anymore.
This swim instructor was teaching swim lessons while holding back tears!! We hold it in until we are alone to let it out.
And then to top it off;
*with the new school schedule starting back so early my sessions did not fill like normal.
*a three year old jumped on me and sent a stinger straight down my neck. Been seeing a chiropractor for a month in a half now.
*A 10 yr old kid (who should have had lessons way younger) busted my lip cuz he was kicking with bent knees.
* bruises all over my arms from
kids pinching me!
I have toughed it out and made it through. I have one more week of lessons.
I can not wait to let loose and have a blast at the End of Season Party tomorrow. I am so ready to get big hugs and watch these kiddos have some fun. We got bouncy house and small slide and pool for littles and slippy slides and my pool for bigger kids. Should have someone facepainting, have a visit from a real turkey and ducks. May also have a visit from the local fire truck. We will have hotdogs, sausage wrap, chips, freeze pops, cake, punch and lemonade. Also alcoholic punch and b**r for parents to enjoy!
We should have something around 120 people. So, come help me celebrate a tough season that we made it through.
Reminder to bring your own chairs and some shade like canopies or umbrellas. We are planning some fun games so be prepared to,possibly, get wet.
