THE TANK HAS ARRIVED.

The Gunslingers are adding some serious firepower.

A 4-star high school recruit and Top 10 player in the state of Alabama, the Montgomery native went on to play 50 career games with 38 starts at the University of Houston.

At 6’3”, 335 pounds, Tank brings size, experience and a whole lot of power to the Gunslingers offensive line.

THE DEFENSE JUST GOT EVEN STRONGER.

Another key piece is coming back for 2027.

Kendre Gant is BACK. 💪

The linebacker was all over the field in 2026, finishing the season with 72 total tackles, 39 solo tackles and 3 interceptions.

Now he’s ready to make an even bigger impact in 2027.

The coaches are in place… now it’s time to build the team.

We’re excited to announce that our first player returning for the 2027 season is All-IFL Second Team defensive lineman Terry Beckner Jr.!

Beckner was a force on the defensive front in 2026, finishing the season with 37 tackles and 8 sacks. Now, he’s ready to bring that same energy back to the Alamo City.

We can’t wait to see him back in a Gunslingers uniform in 2027!

Rounding out the new Gunslingers coaching staff we have Josh Bennett. Bennett brings a unique combination of military service, coaching experience, and football operations expertise to the organization.

Bennett served in the United States Army from 2006 to 2014, deploying to Iraq in 2008 and Afghanistan in 2010 as an 88M Motor Transport Operator.

Following his military service, Bennett began his football career with the Austin Peay football program, working as a videographer in 2014 and 2015. He transitioned into the indoor football ranks in 2018, joining the Carolina Cobras of the National Arena League as a Videographer and Assistant Defensive Backs Coach. During his time with the Cobras, Bennett was part of the organization’s 2018 NAL Championship team and continued with the organization through the 2019 season.

Bennett’s versatile skill set has made him a valuable asset across multiple professional football organizations. He served as Videographer, Assistant Equipment Manager, and Defensive Backs Coach for the Spokane Shock in 2020 and 2021 before joining the Billings Outlaws in 2022 as an Assistant Coach, Equipment Manager, and Videographer.

Most recently, Bennett spent the 2024 and 2025 seasons with the Tucson Sugar Skulls of the Indoor Football League as an Offensive Assistant, Equipment Manager, and Videographer. In 2026, he continued his IFL journey with the Tulsa Oilers as an Offensive Assistant and Videographer.

With experience spanning coaching, player development, video operations, and equipment management, Bennett brings a well-rounded background and strong understanding of the professional indoor game to the Gunslingers.

Coach Marshall Hart joins the San Antonio Gunslingers with an extensive background in indoor football and a proven track record of developing successful players and programs.

Hart began his professional coaching career with the Spokane Empire in 2016, helping lead an offense that ranked among the top four in rushing in both 2016 and 2017. He transitioned to the Nebraska Danger in 2018, serving as Offensive Line Coach and Special Teams Coordinator while helping guide the team to a Conference Championship appearance.

In 2019, Hart joined the Iowa Barnstormers coaching staff, contributing to an impressive 11-2 record, a United Conference Championship appearance, and the league’s second-ranked total offense. He later spent two seasons with the Spokane Shock under Coach Back from 2020-2021, helping guide the organization to playoff appearances.

Throughout his coaching career, Hart has demonstrated a strong ability to develop talent, with six offensive linemen advancing to opportunities in the XFL, NFL, CFL, and USFL.

Outside of the professional game, Hart has spent the past decade building a successful program at Northwest Christian High School, where he currently serves as Head Football Coach while also teaching PE and Health. During his tenure, he has led the program to four league championships, three semifinal appearances, and four quarterfinal appearances.

Hart’s 2023 squad finished with an outstanding 11-1 record and a semifinal appearance while setting school records for both average points scored and points allowed. The success continued in 2024 as Northwest Christian earned its second consecutive trip to the state tournament.

His leadership has earned him numerous honors, including 2023 NEZB Coach of the Year, 2023 WSFCA D-7 Coach of the Year, and 2023 SBLive 2B State Coach of the Year.

Coach Ken Walton II brings an extensive playing background and a passion for developing defensive talent to the San Antonio Gunslingers.

Walton played college football at Itawamba Community College and Cumberland University before beginning his professional indoor football career. His journey began with Coach Back and the Nashville Venom in 2014 and 2015, followed by a standout 2016 season with the Lehigh Valley Steelhawks, where he earned the team’s Defensive Player of the Year honors.

In 2017, Walton reunited with Coach Back as a member of the Wichita Falls Nighthawks before continuing his professional career with the Jacksonville Sharks in 2018. After appearing in five games, he was traded to the Carolina Cobras, where he helped the team capture the 2018 National Arena League Championship. Walton returned to Carolina in 2019 before finishing his professional playing career with the Jacksonville Sharks in 2021.

Since transitioning into coaching, Coach Walton has focused on developing defensive backs and athletes in Nashville, Tennessee. He has also built and led a successful national-level 7-on-7 program at the high school level.

Coach Walton brings energy, personality and a high football IQ shaped by years of experience at the professional level. His knowledge of the defensive side of the game and passion for player development make him a valuable addition to the Gunslingers coaching staff.
