Sports cards are scanned and submitted to Cardscore, which can then be viewed and scored - our term for graded - by the collector community. What is Cardscore?
-Cardscore is the world's first crowdsourced card scoring (grading) platform! Sports cards are scanned and submitted to Cardscore, which can then be viewed
and scored - our term for graded - by the collector community. Our patent-
pend
ing technology allows the card to be scanned at a very high resolution, then
sent directly to our server to be viewed in the app, without the potential for
manipulation. How is a Cardscore determined?
-The Cardscore is an average of 4 scores that are based on the following criteria:
Corners, Edges, Centering, and Surface. Each card is scored by 100 collectors
prior to the official Cardscore being finalized.
-Is Cardscore a competitor with Professional Grading companies? Cardscore is not meant to replace professional grading. It simply provides an online
crowdsourced metric for often used terms such as "great eye appeal", "nicer", or
"undergraded" to differentiate between cards of the same professional grade. For
example, a card could be a PSA 8 and a Cardscore 81, vs. They were both graded an 8 by PSA, but 100 collectors
on average viewed one of them better.
-How can I signup to score cards? We accept signups to be one of our card scoring collectors at
http://app.cardscore.com. This is meant as a service to the hobby, however, in the
future, we will compensate Scorers for their time. Scorers can be removed from the
system at any time and outliers will be removed from the averages at our
discretion.
