August in Texas ☀️🚴♀️🥵
August in Texas means one thing for triathletes and cyclists…
HEAT. HUMIDITY. And well, more HEAT! 🥵
But despite the Texas summer, August was filled with miles, memories, and a whole lot of bike rides with friends. 🚴♀️💙
There were early alarms to beat the heat.
There were long rides where the conversation helped the miles go by.
There were coffee stops, hydration breaks, laughs, encouragement, and probably more than a few conversations about just how HOT it was! 😂
Some rides were tough. Some days the heat won. And some rides required adjusting the plan and simply doing what was safe and smart.
But that's part of being an athlete.
We adapt.
We learn our limits and our strengths.
We respect the conditions.
Sometimes, the best way to get through a challenging Texas summer ride is to surround yourself with good people who make the miles a little more enjoyable.
August reminded me that cycling isn't always about watts, speed, distance, or chasing the perfect workout.
Sometimes it's simply about showing up and putting in the miles.
And enjoying the ride with friends. 😊
Because even in the middle of a hot and humid Texas summer, the best miles are often the ones shared with good people. 💙🚴♀️☀️
Here's to surviving August, staying hydrated, and continuing to ride together!
Keep pedaling. The cooler weather is coming... eventually. 😂
