the "Klunkin' Tamalpais, Racing Repack" Exhibit is now open for browsing at the Marin Museum of Bicycling in Fairfax, Ca...
all these bikes were ridden on Mt.Tamalpais and even on Repack by locals in the 1970's and later, as the Mountain Bike was evolving here...
this is a peek at the bikes that made the show, with the brand names in the order shown here...

7 of the bikes are from the Low Key Motors "homeboy collection"
that have accumulated thru the years, all rebuilt/restored to rideable...
also, there is Pete Barrett's original Repack art that he created for Charlie Kelly's flyers to promote the original Downhill MTB races...Pete was also the hand that penned the LKM original t-shirt art that we came up with in 1990...
we have the "Wall of Rings", mostly skiptooth, that were used by various makers in the 1930's, 40's, and early 50's...the Koski 26" prototype fork in collaboration with Cook Bros is shown in pic 2...
not shown is a board of photos from the early days and Schwinn advertising posters from 1941, Wende Cragg's Repack applique, and the glass case with badges, hubs, and other smalls...
this exhibit is scheduled to last until Dec. 27th, so go check it out, and do not suffer regret or future remorse when the exhibit has ridden away...
