The San Angelo City Council convened today and ruled that the Hockey Rink at Kirby Park would remain closed until June 1st. For this reason the first scheduled Hockey Practice will take place Wednesday, June 3rd at 5:00pm.

We advise anyone with concerns or grievances about this decision to contact either the Mayor (Brenda Gunter 325-450-1508) or the city council (Tommy Hiebert 325-450-8638, Tom Thompson 325-450-6658, Harry Thomas 325-301-2584, Lucy Gonzales 325-340-2667, Lane Carter 325-213-1987, or Billie DeWitt 325-650-4026) as the City of San Angelo Parks and Recreation has no authority regarding the opening of city parks.

Regarding the Governors address about the reopening of skating rinks as of May 22nd, the City of San Angelo is convening a city council meeting tomorrow afternoon to state measures by which the hockey rink at Kirby Park will be reopened. We will have more information then.
