West Texas Class 3A-1A Boys Season Wrap Up
Summary of WTX Bests state qualifier performances:
Class 3A
Seventy-one points is often more than enough to win a state championship but the Wall boys fell short by five points in the Class 3A competition at the UIL State Track and Field Championships.
Here’s a look at how Wall’s points were scored:
Levi King, Senior, Wall
Finished sixth in 200 meters in a season best time of 21.63.
Anchored Wall’s second-place 4x100 relay to a season-best time of 41.37.
Anchored Wall’s third-place 4x200 relay to a season-best time of 1:26.22. The top three times in that race all broke the conference record set in 2017.
Slayton Hallmark, Junior, Wall
Finished second in the 110 hurdles. Even if he had matched his blazing 14.03 season best, he still would have finished second behind the winning time of 13.94. Looking at breaking that 14-second barrier in 2027.
Finished second in the 300 hurdles in a season-best time of 38.38, an improvement of almost .20.
Gavin Sisson, Senior, Wall
Finished eighth in the 110 hurdles. He had a season best time of 14.74.
Finished fourth in the 300 hurdles. He had a season best of 38.81.
Bryson McFarden, Senior, Wall
Finished fourth in the high jump. His season best was 6-8.
Finished third in the triple jump with a season best 46-5.
Anchored Wall’s 4x400 relay, which was one of four schools in the race to best a 17-year-old conference record, to a season-best 3:14.96.
Jager Thompson, Junior, Wall
Finished fourth in the long jump. His season best was 22-9¼.
Ran second on Wall’s 4x100 relay.
Reid Robertson, Senior, Wall
Collected two state medals and helped his team eclipse two conference records as the only Hawk to run at state in three relays.

Sophomore Gunner Garza ran on the 4x100 relay.
Junior Evan Boehle ran on the 4x200 and 4x400 relays.
Senior Hagyn Barbee ran on the 4x200 and 4x400 relays.
Caleb Stout, Junior, Odessa Compass
Finished seventh in 400 meters. His season best was 49.12.
Class 2A
Caden Klingelhefer, Junior, Mason
Won the 800 meters in a time of 1:57.77, just shy of his season best of 1:57.57.
Ozona 4x100 Relay
Seniors Graciano Garcia, Joe Jurado, Trey Ruiz and Christian Villarreal won silver. Their season best time was 42.26.
Kingston Garza, Junior, Mason
Finished third in 400 meters. His season best was 48.47.
Ran third on Mason’s seventh place 4x200 relay, which ran a season-best time of 1:29.39. Seniors Kolton Wenzel, Caleb Koenig and Trevor Loeffler joined Garza on the relay.
Anchored Mason’s ninth-place 4x400 relay.
Cooper Ratliff, Junior, Mason
Finished sixth in the 1,600. His season best time was 4:34.08.
Finished fifth in the 3,200 in a season-best time of 9:55.09, more than four seconds improvement.
Braylon Stewart, Senior, Coleman
Finished sixth in 100 meters. His season best was 10.69.
Finished sixth in 200 meters. His season best was 21.94.
Brock Bierschwale, Senior, Junction
Finished third in the 300 hurdles. His season best was 39.30.
C**t Floyd, Senior, Christoval
Finished fourth in the 110 hurdles in a season-best time of 14.77.
Kember Briley, Senior, Eldorado
Finished fifth in the triple jump with a season-best 44-9 ¼.
Jaycob Ramirez, Junior, Sonora
Finished eighth in the 3,200. His season best time was 10:22.13.
Layne Lusby, Junior, Wink
Finished ninth in the 300 hurdles. He had a season best of 39.13.
4x400 Relay (Sonora, Ballinger, Mason)
None of the WTX Bests entries came close to their season best times. Sonora took fifth, Ballinger was seventh while Mason was ninth.
Freshman Eliseo Garza, sophomore Ryanlee Sanchez, senior Justin Gonzalez and junior Jayden Welborn ran a season-best time of 3:22.32 for Sonora.
Juniors Julio Salazar, Brody Wilde and Hunter Peacock were joined by senior Manny Gonzalez to run a season-best time of 3:22.56 for Ballinger.
Mason seniors Caleb Koenig, Trevor Loeffler and Kolton Wenzel joined Kingston Garza and ran a season-best time of 3:22.42 for Mason.
Class 1A
Miles Colunga, Sophomore, Garden City
Finished second in 100 meters. His season best was 10.71.
Matthew Ramos, Junior, Rankin
Finished second in pole vault. Had a season best of 15-0.
Kayin Hanna, Junior, Rankin
Finished fourth in pole vault. Had a season best of 14-9.
Caden Lees, Junior, Marathon
Finished fourth in 800 meters. His season best was 1:58.90.
Finished fourth in 1,600 meters. His season best was 4:31.65.
Jacob Rivera, Senior, Blackwell
Finished in fifth place in the long jump with a season-best jump of 21-8¾.
Raymond Williams, Senior, Bronte
Finished fifth in the 400 meters. His season best was 50.23.
Parker Kramer, Freshman, Irion County
Finished fifth in the 3,200. His season best time was 10:02.89.
Tucker Cauley, Senior, Veribest
Finished ninth in the 3,200. His season best time was 10:09.4.
