Had the pleasure of setting up Shannon Corman’s beautiful Firebird yesterday. Shannon originally built this car several years ago, but ended up selling it. He bought the car back some time later when the owner decided to sell and since then he has been updating the car from top to bottom and has turned it into one serious street car.

We set this one up from front to back. All new tubular front suspension up front, brand new 9” out back. Scaled and plotted. We’ve been doing a lot of torque arm cars lately. Looking forward to seeing this one hit the track this fall!

Krusty would be so proud of how many G body’s come thru this barn to get set up. James Foutch brought his cutlass up today to get the suspension looked over. Brought it for one thing. And we ended up worked on some other chassis stuff as well. That’s the way set ups usually go. Very cool car that James built himself. And he does a lot of cage installs and chassis work. Check him out at JFR racecars. James can put the link in the comments. This thing is a big block that’s all motor and he even drives it on the street.

This past weekend in the barn we set up another torque arm car of Reuben Leininger. This thing has an LS and a couple turbos on it. He’s been having some trouble getting it down the racetrack. So Barely Able Racing and Tin Soldier Racecars had him bring the car down to the barn. Made some changes in the rear suspension. And found a pretty bad bump steer issue. Thanks to everybody that trust this old barn with your hot rods.

Not posted a lot lately because we’ve been really busy in the shop. And by busy in the shop. I mean more busy than the normal. Melvin dropped his car off to maintenance the engine and check the rod and main bearings. Install a dual bottle fire suppression system. And swap the center section. Car needed to be ready for the dyno on Tuesday. So me and John Martin put in about 40 hrs of work combined since yesterday. Well… we got it done.

16 years old. Gets to work on 2000 horsepower racecars. And gets paid to do it. I can’t teach him much. But I’ll teach him not to be the victim.

Late on this post. But Eric Weyda brought us his beautiful Foxbody to set up for the X255 class. This car was built for him by tin soldiers 10 years ago. One of the first cars they built. And it’s never been raced. Very cool to get to see this piece of history and be the one trusted to set it up. Car is built just as nice as it looks like it is. Looking forward to seeing this car get raced. I will admit I do like that is a bes BBf one nitrous.
