So I haven’t posted a whole lot about John martins 89 coupe. Because we haven’t had time to work on it. We’ve been trying to do a lot of racecar work for people. But John Martin has been working on this thing since he’s on summer break from school. A few weeks ago this was a bare shell. Hadn’t touched it since we painted it. I have absolutely helped to get it to this point. But he has done the most of this himself. And it’s a long way from done. But I told him he had to get it rolling by this past weekend. Well. Here it is. I’m sitting it on the ground. Making them 16 year hands a little harder everyday.

This video popped up in memories from 2015. We were trying to track down a funky issue with a switch panel randomly shutting off. Was pretty sure we had found the fix, but wanted to test before going to the track. Didn’t shut off. 😂

Busy weekend in the barn. On Saturday we had Lee Kennetz beautiful green coupe in to set up and get ready to run 5.30. It’s even got tail pipes. Been doing a lot of the 5.30 cars. He bought the roller and put everything all together. He actually saw our post we made about how we don’t just do really fast cars. So he wanted to try to save himself a few wasted trips to the race track when he gets the car out. And that’s our goal. Send people out with cars they can get to work.

On Sunday we had rocky Pauley in with his 94 mustang. LS turbo no prep radial car. Rocky bought this car turn key. And he’s been having some trouble with it getting down the track. We set it up and looked the car over. When looking the car over I found a few issues that needed fixed that is causing him some problems. That’s another thing that we do when you bring a car to the barn. It gets a good look over. And the stuff I’ve found over the years is countless. So we’ve got Rocky ready for the race at 304 in a few weeks.

Another set up leaving tonight. Larry smith brought us his really nice 40k mile Grand National to set up to run 5.30 stuff. This old barn has had a few of these thru here now

Truly humbled, and grateful for the opportunity to work on and wheel this hotrod. We’ve had some really great celebrations after big wins over the years, and this one ranked up there with any of them.
