Congratulations Matt on an amazing 8! 🦌

Matt gave me a call last night after losing the blood trail in an overgrown thicket. Instead of taking a chance on pushing the deer—unsure if it was dead or alive—he made the right decision, backed out, and asked us to come take a look.

Once we arrived at the farm, we had the deer located, recovered, and loaded up within 30 minutes.

No matter the situation, always back out and give us a call. Let us take a look from above to be safe and 100% sure of your trophy’s location. It’s always better to be safe than sorry—or risk not recovering your animal.

Tomorrow is opening day of late muzzleloader season, with 9 more days of late-season gun hunting ahead! 🦌

Bucks have been on the move lately—many are settling back into their normal feeding patterns, while others are still chasing those late-cycle does.

As always, reach out for any recovery needs. Shoot straight, be safe, and remember: when in doubt, back out.

Good luck to everyone out there!

Congratulations Evan on a super nice deer! 🦌

Evan gave me a call this morning a little concerned about his shot placement after reviewing his footage. He sent the video over and I told him it looked like a gut shot—one that typically takes some time for the deer to expire. They still wanted me to come out and put the drone in the air to see exactly what we were dealing with.

Once I got to the farm, he pointed me toward the direction the deer had run. Within minutes of being in the sky, I located his deer already expired—less than 100 yards from the shot site! 🦌 Thank you for trusting me to find him, and again, congratulations Evan!

Evan made the right call by reaching out when he wasn’t confident in the shot, even after watching the video. Always remember: if you’re unsure, back out and give us a call. We’ll take to the sky and let the thermal show you exactly what’s going on!

Congratulations Bryan on your first deer!! 🦌👏

Bryan reached out after losing the blood trail and wasn’t sure which direction his buck went after hitting an open hay field. I told him the safest move was to back out and wait until I could assess everything from the sky.

After a few flights around the farm, we finally located his deer tucked away under some thick cedars—exactly the kind of spot that could’ve been missed on foot.

Thank you for trusting me, Bryan. I’m glad you reached out instead of risking losing your very first deer. Big congratulations again!

And remember guys—when in doubt, back out.
Give us a call at Brush Creek Thermal Works, and we’ll take it from the sky.

Congratulations Josh on an absolute giant 🦌 with some wild character going on! And thank you for service 🇺🇸

Josh reached out last night after taking a shot he felt was a little low. We talked it through, and once he sent over pictures and videos of the blood trail, I told him the blood wasn’t the color you want to see if you plan to keep pushing. He made the right call and backed out after about 100 yards.

Once I met up with Josh and his father-in-law, we pitched the drone up and got to work. Thick hardwoods and cedars made this track tougher than usual, and the deer had pushed over 1,000 yards from last blood. We eventually located him standing and swaying in the timber and watched him bed down a few minutes later, hoping that would be his final resting place.

I headed back out this morning to meet his father-in-law while Josh was at work. The deer hadn’t moved from that last bed overnight—but unfortunately, the coyotes beat us to him sometime before we arrived.

Even though it wasn’t the ending anyone hopes for, this was still a successful recovery. If Josh had kept pushing that deer last night instead of backing out, there’s almost no chance he ever would’ve found him.

When in doubt, BACK OUT—
and give us a call so we can get in the air and locate your deer without pushing him farther than you’ll ever find. 🦌

🔥🔥🦌Congratulations Brittany on an absolute hammer of an 8! 🦌🔥🔥

Yesterday, Brittany’s husband reached out after she made a shot on a buck but had no idea where the hit landed or which direction he bolted. The uncertainty alone can eat a hunter alive. When I got to the farm and launched the drone, the pressure was on—within minutes, I located the buck buried in thick, unforgiving brush. He was alive, hurting, and holding tight. After reviewing everything, we made the tough call to back out and give him the time he needed rather than risk pushing him into the next county.

This morning, once the fog finally lifted, we went back in—and what we found said everything. That buck was STILL on his feet, in the exact same spot he’d been standing the night before. For a deer to hold tight that long, he had to be hurt BAD. I told them I’d return after work, because one wrong move could send him miles.

After dark tonight, at the 27-hour mark, I put the drone back up—and within minutes, I found him again. Only this time… he was down for good. A long, brutal fight finally over. 🦌

Stuart and Brittany played this perfectly. They didn’t push him. They didn’t risk bumping him again. They trusted the process—and because of that, they got their recovery.

When in doubt, BACK OUT.
Let us take to the sky and give you answers when the ground gives you none. 🦌

Got a call Thursday evening from a hunter who took a shot but never found any blood. He wanted to make sure he didn’t have a wounded or dead deer laying on his farm, so I went out that night and put the drone in the air. With no sign of the deer—and yesterday’s heavy rain—I pushed the follow-up to today.

What we found was the best news possible: the deer was alive, healthy, and moving just fine. The hunter was relieved knowing nothing went to waste on his property.

Give us a call even if you’re unsure whether you hit a deer, be a good sportsman—put in the effort to make sure you don’t have a deer laying out there. A quick search can give you peace of mind and ensure nothing goes unseen.

First off, Congratulations to Brent on an absolutely amazing deer!

What a story we have on this one!

Brent gave me a call Tuesday evening to help recover a deer with very little blood to go off of. Between rainstorms, we decided to pitch the drone up and see what we could find. After just a few minutes in the air, I located his deer standing in the woods only a couple hundred yards from where he shot it. We hovered long enough to watch him bed down, and based on his condition, we figured he may not make it through the night.

Yesterday morning, we went back—only to find the deer still alive and still bedded in the exact same spot. It was clear he was hurt badly enough that he wasn’t going anywhere, so we backed out once again and I returned this morning.

As soon as we flew to his previous bed, we found him about 75 yards away in a new spot, finally having passed.

This is a perfect example of just how tough and determined these animals are, especially this time of year. If Brent had continued to push this deer instead of backing out when he did, there’s a very good chance this recovery would’ve never happened.

So remember: when in doubt, BACK OUT.
Give us a call, and let us get in the air to give you the best odds of recovering your trophy.

Congratulations Joe on an absolute stud of a buck!

Joe gave me a call first thing this morning right after his shot. He walked me through what happened and how the deer reacted. While searching for blood, he accidentally jumped the deer—but instead of pushing the track any farther, he did the smartest thing he could’ve done… he backed out and called me.

Once I got to his location, I put the drone up and located the deer within minutes. He was still alive, and based on the shot placement (gut shot) and his behavior, I told Joe he wouldn’t last long if given time. I lifted the drone again about 30 minutes later—and sure enough, the deer was laying right where we left him.

This is the perfect example of why backing out is critical.
If you bump your deer or lose blood, get out of there and give us a call. We’ll get in the air, assess the situation, and make sure you recover your trophy safely.

Huge congratulations again to Joe on his biggest deer to date! 💥🦌
