The Town of Saltville is accepting letters of interest from qualified registered citizens of the Town of Saltville to fill the current vacancy on Town Council.

Letters of interest must be received by 12:00pm on Monday, September 21st, 2026. Late submissions will not be accepted.

The letters of interest will be reviewed during a Public Hearing on September 23rd, 2026, at 7:00pm. Council will make the appointment during a Special Called Meeting on September 30th, 2026, at 7:00pm.

The interim appointment will extend through December 31st, 2027. A special election will be held on November 2nd, 2027, for the subsequent term beginning January 1st, 2028, and ending December 31st, 2028.

Please take notice that the Council for the Town of Saltville, Virginia, will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, at 7:00pm at Saltville Town Hall, 217 Palmer Ave, Saltville, Virginia.

The purpose of the public hearing is to review the Letters of Interest received for the vacant Town Council seat following the passing of Councilman R.B. Henderson.

The public is welcome to attend.

Due to the passing of Councilman R.B. Henderson, the Town of Saltville is accepting letters of interest from qualified registered citizens of the Town of Saltville who wish to be considered for appointment to the vacant Town Council seat.

The individual selected will serve an interim appointment through December 31st, 2027. A special election will be held on November 2nd, 2027, to fill the vacant seat for a term beginning January 1st, 2028, and ending December 31st, 2028.

Letters of interest must be received by 12:00pm on September 21st, 2026. Letters received after the deadline will not be accepted.

The parade was nice today! The Grand Marshall of the parade were the NHS fall sports athletes and band and cheer! The cloud over little Salty was eerie before the storm, the 1921 Stanley Steamer driven by Hans Stamberg was a hit in the parade. Thanks to all that participated!
