Despite ardent efforts to continue the Tour of Utah, Medalist Sports announced today that it will no longer pursue planning efforts for 2022 and has requested of USA Cycling and the UCI to have the event removed from the international cycling calendar. "On-going sponsor and host community discussions have been positive; however, not strong enough to support a viable effort to meet our collective expectations," shared Chris Aronhalt, owner and President of Medalist Sports, LLC. "While disappointed, Medalist Sports is grateful for the opportunity and cherishes the Tour of Utah's legacy.

We are thrilled to announce that we have entered into a licensing agreement with , a full-service sports management company specializing in road cycling and cause-related events, to operate the professional cycling stage race and the Tour of Utah Ultimate Challenge.

Today we relive the 2019 Larry H. Miller Stage 6 presented by the Utah Sports Commission. The Park City finale featured an epic climb of Empire Pass. American Lawson Craddock earned the leader’s jersey after Stage 1 and was very active throughout the entire Tour, finishing 6th on G.C. His team EF Pro Cycling finished as Best Team.

Belgian Ben Hermans of Israel Cycling Academy successfully earned the top prize in front of huge crowds in Park City on Sunday. Hermans finished fourth on Stage 6 and took the Larry H. Miller Group of Companies Overall Leader title. American Joe Dombrowski of EF Education First attacked multiple times on Empire Pass and took his first stage victory in four years.

For the first time in race history, Canyons Village at Park City Mountain hosted a stage start and finish! Stage 5 presented by University of Utah Health featured a crazy uphill sprint and battle between New Zealand rider Hayden McCormick to line taken at line by Lachlan Morton of Australia who was also the former G.C. winner from 2016.

Downtown Salt Lake City set the scene for Stage 4 presented by America First Credit Union from the 2019 . American Travis McCabe caught a break in the peloton with less than 1 kilometer to go and edged out at line to finish second. Travis held the Sprint classification jersey to the end of the race and won that for a second year.

This morning’s look back at the 2019 brings us the full TV broadcast of Stage 3, Antelope Island to North Salt Lake presented by BYUtv and BYUradio. American Kyle Murphy riding for Rally gets 2nd, sandwiched between two WorldTour riders, Hermans of Israel Cycling and Niklas Eg of Trek-Segafredo. He was just 7 seconds behind G.C. leader Hermans. The heat and final three hilly circuits led to an extremely challenging podium!

We’re kicking things off with the full TV broadcast of the Prologue presented by Zions Bank. The Prolugue at Snowbird Resort featured a surprise win by Continental team rider James Piccoli of Canada. James put on a stunning display of pure effort at altitude, donning the yellow jersey and setting the stage for week of climbing.

The Larry H. Miller Tour of Utah announced today the cancellation of its 2020 professional cycling stage race due to public health concerns from the coronavirus pandemic.

This fall, the world governing body Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) will announce the 2021 race dates for the men’s professional stage race. The seven-day Tour of Utah has earned the reputation as “America’s Toughest Stage Race.”
