Went with bathroom selfie today šā¦ but wait thereās a storyšš½, have a read.
The common known cycle is to bulk in the winter and when summer comes around get as lean and shredded as possible, and thereās absolutely nothing wrong with this approach. Iāve done it many times myself. Most people assume just because oneās appearance is lean to the max they must be healthy. Disciplined, yes. Healthy, not always the case.
This year(not that I still couldnāt) I didnāt really feel like leaning down in preparation for summer but have maintained a decent physique. My understanding of healthy is finding a balance. This balance not only pertains to health but in life, and thatās likely different for each person.
My point in all of this, is leanness does not always equate to healthy, and it comes down to finding a balance. For example body builders prepping for a show. Iāve got nothing against them or the sport and have the utmost respect for the time, dedication and discipline involved to compete. However, the truth of it is and although their bodies look great itās usually not a healthy pursuit. The training for some can be two times a day, resulting in time away from family or whomever. As for nutrition, it almost borders the line of starvation, leading to irritability, headaches, and sleeplessness. Again my purpose isnāt to knock the sport, however Iām just stating the reality of it.
So, thereās an imaginary scale which may change throughout your life in relation to priorities etc⦠Speaking specifically about health itās up to you to determine where you would like to be. The more extreme or lean body you want requires more extreme measures.
My advice to you is, find something that is sustainable long term and stick with it. Avoid extreme dieting, or buying into quick weight loss programs. Most people are unable to sustain them long term hence the rebound in weight.
Just because oneās physique may not show every muscle in the body it doesnāt mean they are not healthy. Healthy is the balance you decide when looking in the mirror and in life in general.
I would love to hear your thoughts even if you disagree. We can still be friends promise.
