The targets for the new Salmon Archery Range have arrived! Backcountry Hunters & Anglers, IDFG and Idaho Mountain Archery will be holding a volunteer work day at the Lemhi Hole Fishing Access site on Thursday, July 31st at 5:30 pm to put the finishing touches on the range. Come prepared to build fence and shooting lanes, install targets, etc. We recommend you bring water, sun protection, work gloves and sturdy boots and long sleeves/pants.

Elk knuckles make slight crackling noises when they walk. Those noises help them keep in touch with each other, especially when the herd spreads out in thick brush. When elk hear knuckle-cracking, they know it's another elk nearby and not a predator.
