Took these guys to the All American Open Karate Championships in Oklahoma City yesterday. David Capehart took 1st in forms and 3rd in fighting in the 15-16 year old black belt division in only his second tournament and his first in the black belt division. Ayden Ross, also in his first tournament as a black belt took 2nd in fighting. T.H. Harrell and Jerold Risley, also in their first tournament showed everyone what World Class Martial Arts of Oklahoma's athletes are made of. Special shout out to Jerold who found himself the only competitor in the adult male intermediate division. He could have taken home double 1st place gold medals by default. He was given the option of doing that or moving up to the advanced adult brown belt division. He chose to move up understanding that he was competing against much more experienced competitors and risking going home with only the experience and a few welps and bruises. He did come home with both of those but he also came home with 2nd place silver medals in both forms and fighting. That is the heart and spirit every instructor looks for in students of the martial arts. I'm very proud of you all, great job.

This is not your normal cardio class. This class incorporates real fight oriented training that has helped thousands of competitive fighters over the years become some of the fittest athletes on the planet. We train using jump ropes, heavy bag work, light bag work, focus mitts and tons of core work along with some new ideas to help develop you into the athlete you've always wanted to be. If you've had a desire to learn how to defend yourself without actually having to fight then this class is for you. This class is ideal for beginners to the advanced athlete. There are two different classes going on now so come check it out. Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings at 9:00 a.m. and then Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday at noon. Come let me help you make 2017 the year you change your life with our Strike Up A Sweat Kickboxing Fitness class. This is not a cardio kickboxing class. This is a fight oriented training class without the actual sparring. Come join the fun, get in great shape and develop skills that could very well save your life someday by learning proper techniques in striking using punches, kicks, knees and elbows while doing strength, conditioning and core work. It's an awesome full body workout with real world self defense training combined. All classes are taught by Jeff Gibson, 7th degree black belt with over 30 years experience. There are two different classes now, Tuesday's, Thursday's at 7:30 p.m. and Saturdays at noon. Then there is a morning class at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. There is limited space so call or come by today and ask for Jeff.

Congratulations Mr Cale Abbott on a very successful black belt test today. I can't begin to tell you how proud I am of you and all of the hard work you have put in the last 3 1/2 years. I want to thank Grand Master Tim Kirby for all the hard work you've been doing with all of our students but especially with our three newest black belts Ayden Ross and David Capehart who tested previously this year and now Cale Abbott. Hard work equals great success. A truth proven daily at World Class Martial Arts of Oklahoma.

Black belt test today at 2:00. Mr Cale Abbott tests for his 1st degree black belt today. I would say good luck to him but this isn't about luck. It's about being prepared and he is certainly that. Okay Mr Abbott, now it's time to show the heart and spirit that's gotten you this far. Dig deep son, time to dig really deep and show us all that the word quit doesn't exist in your vocabulary.
