My name is Mike Sutton, I have been a baseball Coach at the little League level since 1993 in Salina and Lawrence. Like most, I have played baseball since age 7. As a teenager I was selected to All-Star teams that would play for State Titles. In High School I was on the track team rather than play baseball. This did not keep the College offers from coming in. I turned them all down to play Footbal
l at Hutchinson Community College and Bethel College. At age 16, I was contacted to attend a tryout camp put on by the Atlanta Braves. The camp had scouts from the Cleveland Indians and Montreal Expos as well. At 18, I began to coach little league baseball in Salina, Ks. The first team that I coached won two league titlles and had a league record of 19-1 over two years. At the age of 23, I decided to join the United States Marine Corps and gave up coaching until my oldest son started to play baseball in Lawrence, Ks.
