Hello Friends!

We wanted to let you all know we are nearing the end of our time running tours. We have one weekend left (Jan 18-21) and still have a few spots left if you’re hoping to get out on a tour with us.

That said, what an amazing 12 years we’ve had running tours! Thanks to all those who have come and spent time with us and our dogs and those who have supported us along the way. We are immensely grateful for you!

While we are sad to be saying goodbye, we are also excited for this next chapter.

If you’d like to book a tour, you can do so through our website.

It’s springtime! We have some new retirees this spring looking for active homes and warm couches. If you’re hoping to add a four-legged member to your family, check out our retiring sled dogs.

Keen is a fun, goofy 10 year old intact male with a lot of energy. He would do best in an active home where he could get lots of exercise and a big yard to run around in. He would also be best in a home without small kids. He is from the shoe litter.

Hiring for 2 positions- summer kennel help and tree work
Location: Salida, Colorado

We are a dog sled tour kennel of around 50 dogs, looking for summer kennel help (dog chores plus help exercising). Housing is provided and we have lots of other work available or you can get a job in the area. We are in an amazing location in the alpine at 9000’ and there is lots of recreation in the area (Biking, Hiking, Rafting, Fishing, etc.). Lots of guiding opportunities for companies around the county. No experience necessary but must have a love and understanding of dogs. We also have a tree service that operates in the summer months (3 days a week) and can use help with that work. We pay hourly for most help at $18-$24/hr, depending on experience. Feel free to email over a resume if interested to [email protected]

It’s a joy for us to find retirement homes for our older dogs. Derailer, who was one our founding kennel dogs, is now finding retirement adventures with his new family— .james

Posted • .james Everyone say hi to Derailer! He’s the newest smile to our family - and he’s a 10 year old Alaskan Husky and retired sled dog.

Some time ago, and I picked up a hitchhiker when rock climbing in Boulder Canyon, and he had a beautiful old fella with him who he said was a retired sled dog that he had adopted. After we met them both we felt so pumped to find an old boy to spoil for ourself, and finally came across near Salida, CO. This is where we found Derailer, who was one of their lead studs and head of the sled for many years, and we are super stoked to give him the best home for retirement, with plenty of mountain adventures to come!! Also if you guys ever visit Colorado and want to do something really unique and fun, find online and book a dog sled tour through the beautiful Rocky Mountains!
