What do you want to keep saying “yes” to?

A few years ago, Chris and I took a trip to Tulum, Mexico, and one of the things we said “yes” to was snorkeling together.

And really, this is what staying strong is about for us.

It’s not about being the strongest person in the room or doing the hardest exercise. It’s about being able to travel, explore, try new things and enjoy experiences together.

Those are the things we want to keep saying yes to for a long time.

It’s also a big part of why we believe so much in Pilates. The strength, balance and mobility we work on in the studio are meant to support the life we want to live outside of it.

Your “yes” might be snorkeling in Mexico. Or it might be pickleball, golf, hiking, gardening, traveling, or keeping up with the grandkids.

Whatever it is, keep getting stronger for it.

What do you want to keep saying “yes” to?

If you’ve never tried Pilates, the Reformer can look a little intimidating at first. Springs, straps, a moving carriage… what does all of it actually do?

The Reformer is designed to help you move with both support and resistance. The springs can assist a movement or make it more challenging, while the carriage, straps and bars allow us to work the body in many different ways.

That versatility is one of the things we love about it.

We can use the Reformer to work on strength, balance, mobility, coordination and body awareness—and exercises can be adjusted for different experience levels and abilities.

And don’t worry, you don’t need to know how any of it works before you walk through our doors. That’s our job. We’ll teach you how to use the equipment and guide you through each exercise.

So if you’ve ever looked at a Reformer and thought, “I have no idea what I’m supposed to do with that thing,” you’re definitely not alone. 😊

Come in, get comfortable with the equipment, and discover what Pilates can do for you.

500 hours. Why does that matter?

When you come to a Pilates class, you probably aren't thinking about how many hours your instructor spent learning to teach.

But we think it's worth knowing.

Our Parks Pilates instructors complete a rigorous 500-hour comprehensive Pilates training program. It's a significant investment of time and study—and there's a reason for it.

Pilates is much more than knowing a list of exercises.

An instructor needs to understand the equipment, movement, proper technique, how exercises progress, and how to adapt what they're teaching to the person in front of them.

That's especially important to us because no two people walk into the studio with exactly the same body, experience or goals.

It's also one of the reasons we keep our classes small. Training gives our instructors knowledge. Small classes give them the opportunity to actually use it.

We can watch how you're moving, offer a different option when appropriate, give you more challenge when you're ready, and adjust the class to the people who are there that day. That's central to how we teach at Parks Pilates.

500 hours isn't just a number. It's part of our commitment to teaching you well.

When was the last time you thought about strengthening your feet?

We ask a lot of our feet every day, but they’re easy to overlook when we think about strength.

Your feet and ankles play an important role in how you stand, walk, balance and respond to changes in the surface beneath you.

That matters whether you’re walking on an uneven trail, stepping on and off the dock, changing direction on the pickleball court—or simply moving through your day with confidence.

That’s why we sometimes give the feet a little extra attention at Parks Pilates.

Strong movement starts from the ground up.

New to Pilates? You don’t have to be “ready” before you begin.

One of the things we hear from people who are thinking about trying Pilates is, “I need to get in better shape first.”

You really don’t.

You don’t need to be flexible. You don’t need a strong core. And you certainly don’t need to know what you’re doing before you walk through the door.

That’s what we’re here for.

Whenever possible, we recommend starting with a private lesson. It gives us a chance to get to know you, see how you move, talk about your goals, and understand your strength, mobility, balance and coordination. From there, we can help you find the right place to begin.

And because our classes are limited to five people, you’ll continue to receive personal attention as you learn and build confidence.

You don’t have to be good at Pilates to start Pilates. You just have to start where you are.

Curious but still a little unsure? Send us a message. We’re always happy to answer questions and help you decide whether Parks Pilates might be a good fit for you. 💜

Why only five?

When we opened Parks Pilates, we made a very intentional decision to limit our group classes to just five people.

Because with a small class, we can actually get to know you.

We can see how you’re moving, offer a modification when you need one, give you a little more challenge when you’re ready, and remember the things you’ve been working on.

And because every group is different, the class can be adjusted to the people who are actually there that day.

That’s what personalized instruction means to us.

We teach people, not programs.

The relationships we build with our clients are every bit as important to us as the exercises we teach. It’s one of the things that makes Parks Pilates feel like Parks Pilates. 💙

Small classes. Personalized coaching. Meaningful relationships.

Being strong isn’t about lifting the heaviest weight or keeping up with anyone else.

It’s about having the strength and confidence to keep doing the things that make your life yours.

Getting out on the lake. Playing another round of golf. Traveling. Hiking. Gardening. Picking up a grandchild. Getting down on the floor—and back up again.

That’s why we believe strength should have a purpose.

At Parks Pilates, we’re not training you to be better at Pilates. We’re helping you build strength, balance and mobility for life outside the studio.

Strong for life. Strong for what you love.

The goal isn’t just to get stronger in the studio. It’s to keep doing the things you enjoy outside of it.

Pickleball. Golf. Tennis. Hiking. Days on the lake. Traveling. Keeping up with the grandkids.

All of those activities ask your body to balance, rotate, reach, react and move with control. Building strength, mobility and stability can help you feel more confident doing the things that make life fun.

That’s one of the things we love about Pilates—it supports the life you’re already living.

Move well. Stay strong. Keep playing.

What are you getting stronger for? 💪

For us, staying strong isn’t really about what happens in the Pilates studio. It’s about everything we want to keep doing outside of it.

Playing pickleball with friends. Spending the day on the lake. Traveling. Hiking. Golf. Keeping up with family. And simply feeling confident doing the everyday things we sometimes take for granted.

That’s really why we believe so much in Pilates.

The strength, balance, mobility and stability we work on in class help support all those other things we enjoy doing.

Chris is a pretty good example. He doesn’t do Pilates just to be better at Pilates. He wants to keep playing pickleball, tennis, enjoying the lake and staying active for a long time to come.

And we know many of you feel the same way.

Pilates is the foundation—not the destination.

So we’d love to know: What are you getting stronger for?

Tell us in the comments. We have a feeling we’ll hear some great answers. 💜
