Turning her body around asks her to pull her ribs over a blocked hip. Changing orientation flips everything and the old 'how' no longer 'works'. This is a means of testing how one computes and is able to find an alternative way -- a tremendously important skill for improving (and keeping) function.

The sequence of dropping. Up leg (hinge leg) steps first, and down leg (squat leg) steps second and "sinks the body". I reverse this natural process by simply switching the set up, and give each leg some time as the other.

The fear of falling, misstepping, or making a mistake is most notable through her hands, which most often take a "death-grip" as she ambulates. They are the last piece she trusts. So, from there, we play and release and develop something new, so she KNOWS she still can.
