In 1956, Paul Black Wallace left 24 acres of prime riverfront land to the residents of Salem. Today, Wallace Marine Park is a beautiful 68 acres tucked along the west bank of the Willamette River, and the Wallace Marine Park Softball Complex is its spectacular centerpiece. Other modern park amenities include a netted playground, a boat ramp, and so
ccer fields. A typical day at the park will include the chance to see an osprey soar with a fish in its talons to the chicks nestled high atop one of the light posts. Wallace Marine Park offers a glimpse of the great Oregon outdoors, yet it is also only a short walk over the pedestrian bridge to downtown Salem, Oregon’s capital city. During the glorious summer months, average high temperatures in the Willamette Valley hover in the comfortable mid-80s. We know you will, too.
