The beautiful Current River at the Akers Upper Landing this morning! River gauges currently show .92 feet and 229 cfs, and the weather says little to no chance of rain until 5pm! Should be an awesome Friday on the river!

If you are traveling to Akers Ferry Canoe Rental, please tell your GPS to avoid ferries. Other suggestions would include that you actually tell your phone "Akers Ferry CANOE RENTAL" , NOT just "Akers Ferry", or use the address - 36869 State Highway K, Salem, MO 65560.

The canoe rental is still operating, in the former NPS Visitor's Center.

Please, please be sure to check that your GPS does NOT route you through Summersville or Hartshorn. If coming up from Eminence, you'll need to bring 19 to KK. If coming down from Salem, you'll need to bring 19 to either K or KK.

We are unsure why cell phones have decided this month to bring folks (even from St Louis) to the wrong side of the river, but want to make sure everyone gets where theyre going, and on the correct side of the river!

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to call Akers Ferry Canoe Rental at 573-858-3224 we will do our absolute best to help with directions!
