The Lady Quaker JH Track & Field team had 4 field athletes compete on Saturday at the 7th/8th Grade Championships in Hilliard. Layla Hewitt (High Jump), Annaleigh Jones-Harris (Discus), Gracee Owen (Shot Put), and Audrey Beck (Shot Put) all earned their way into the meet by finishing in the top 16 athletes in the State in their event. Overall, the quartet earned a total of 6 points, marking the 3rd straight year the Lady Quakers would find an athlete on the podium.

-Layla Hewitt competed in the High Jump, after qualifying with the 9th best jump overall. Although she would finish at 15th, going out at 4-8, her qualifying jump of 4-10 ties the JH school record.

-Gracee Owen earned her way in to the Shot Put with a qualifying throw in the final meet of the season, putting her in 13th going into the meet. Her best throw Saturday of 34-8.5 was good enough for a 10th place finish.

-Audrey Beck had a solid season in the Shot Put, which saw her in the top 16 for most of the year. She was able to hold on to the 16th and final spot in the meet, and made the most of her opportunity, moving all the way up to 7th place, and on the podium, with a throw of 36-3.5

-Annaleigh Jones-Harris also found her way on to the podium after completing a solid season of her own, which saw her featured in the top 16 for the majority of the season. She entered the meet as the 8th best in the Discus, and was able to throw her way to a 5th place finish, with a throw of 99-5.

Congratulations to all 4 girls on their qualifying and performances at the State meet, as well as their achievements over the last two seasons for Lady Quaker JH Track & Field and making us all proud!
