Sail Salem season 19 was filled with fresh ocean air, hours of sunshine, new discoveries, and a lot of fun.😎 Now that the summer is in our wake, we want to wish our campers and instructors the very best of luck as they head into new chapters this fall.

For some, that means soccer practice or navigating a new grade. For others, it means a new school, a different routine, or moving into a dorm and away from home for the first time.

Whatever lies ahead, we hope everyone carries the memories, friendships, and sense of adventure from this summer with them. Here's to new beginnings and all the journeys still to come. Fair winds and following seas! ⛵️

and were at Winter Island yesterday to announce a major grant award for the Winter Island Park Pathway and Bank Restoration Project.

Back in 2006, then-Mayor of Salem Kim Driscoll believed that young people in Salem should have the opportunity to connect to the ocean that defines our city — inspiring a group to establish Sail Salem in 2007.

We are thankful to Lt. Governor Driscoll for helping to make this dream come true for so many young sailors, who include Mayor Dominick Pangallo’s two daughters! Lt. Governor Kim Driscoll

Huge thank you to Captain Jeff Crosby and Chief Mate Taylor Methven from the Pride of Baltimore II for giving our campers an incredible tour!⛵

Their beautiful tall ship is a replica of an 1812-era Clipper topsail schooner and they visited Salem last week to help us celebrate our 400+ Heritage Days.

Our kids learned first-hand what it’s like to sail the seas just like the privateers did over 200 years ago!🌊 Pride of Baltimore II

We were thrilled to march in Salem’s 400+ Heritage Days Parade yesterday!⚓️ It was a wonderful day to celebrate being part of our historic and special Salem community. More than 50 groups participated and the parade route was filled with enthusiastic spectators.😎

Thank you to Salem’s own for providing their signature Sweet Sloops chocolates, which our campers handed out. And thank you to our parent chaperones for their time!
