Happening today at Centennial Park (pavilion 7). Lots of give aways, clothing, and food. All are welcome today from 2-5pm.

Faith Family Day is a fun-filled community outreach designed to bring families together. We’ll have free food, Bounce houses ,and giveaways.

After the passing of Dolly Parton yesterday, I think it’s only fitting to say thank you to her for the wonderful gift she inspired in Waterworth Memorial Park. Thanks to the amazing efforts of Scott and Lisa at The Brightside Project, we were able to install Storybook Trail along the nature trail at the park several years ago. Using books from Dolly’s Imagination Library, together, we are able to help promote her life long love of reading and learning, allow free access to high quality stories regardless of income, and boost early literacy in the children within our community.

Thank you, Dolly, for your vision, your passion, your love of literacy and children, your benevolent spirit, and your unwavering commitment to making this world a better place. You broke through barriers, you loved unconditionally, and you helped make our little corner of this world a better place in the process.

If you have not visited Storybook Trail, please take advantage of this wonderful resource in our community. There is a new story is the works, so stay tuned for that, but for now, Flossy the Turtle is a pretty neat.

Unfortunately, with the rain and severe thunderstorm watch in the area. We will not be able to show our movie this evening. The projection equipment sits in the open and cannot get even slightly wet. We are working on finding another date.

Due to an overnight catastrophic failure in the filtration tank, and the loss of a signification amount of the pool’s water volume, Centennial Park Pool will be closed today. We will inspect the tank and other equipment tomorrow morning to determine operational safety and if repairs can be made.

We understand this is not ideal, for any of us, but we do have a pool that is 70+ years old, and a filtration system that is approaching 30. We are doing our best to find a safe and cost effective solution.

Centennial Park Pool will open today at 2:30pm once the rain has cleared out of the area.

The Centennial Park Pool will be closed today due to rain and a severe thunderstorms coming into the area.

The city is still experiencing phone/internet issues, please be patient if you are trying to contact us. We will get back to you as soon as we have the ability to do so.

The Salem City Lake and Centennial Pool will be cash only until further notice. We are unable to accept credit cards, at this time, due to a lightening strike during last night’s storms (all city internet is currently down). Once the city has restored service, we will let you all know.
