Adult slow pitch softball tournament run to aid in scholarships to high school seniors going to college and helping people in the community who are in financial need In the spring of 1981 the Chance Crawford Trust Fund Committee held a benefit softball tournament to help a young Salem High School quarterback who suffered a spinal cord injury while playing football. The first ten years the tourname

nt proceeds helped Chance offset his medical expenses, aided in the renovations to his home, and provided assistance to his educational pursuits. While he no longer needs the help, others in our community do. As a way of saying thank you and paying it forward, Chance along with the Trust Fund Committee have continued to reach out to those in need. Since 1991 over $400,000 has been raised and donated to deserving men, women and children throughout our community that need a helping hand just as Chance did. With your support together we can continue to touch lives, make days a little brighter, hearts a little happier and more importantly give families and individuals the opportunity to make dreams come true and memories last a lifetime.
