It was used as a form of combat for family preservation. Times have changed but the value of family has not and karate continues to be a venue for families to learn together, grow together, and strengthen bonds that will last a lifetime. Our classes are for ages 6 through adult and are structured so that families may train together. It is our goal to maintain the traditional state of karate while
training in a friendly atmosphere. We strive to promote character development by instilling courage, courtesy, integrity, humility, and self-control within our students. Sensei Ed Daniels has been training in martial arts since 1979. He has trained in multiple styles both empty handed and with weapons and has a wealth of knowledge which he shares with his students. His ranking system is Go Ju Kempo Karate which is a combination style derived from Shotokan and Kempo Jujutsu. In his teaching Sensei Daniels uses all of his previous training in karate and jujitsu as resources which help to develop his students into well rounded martial artist. He currently holds black belt ranking in seven different styles, four of which are master level. His ranks are as follows:
Shoto Jitsu Jujitsu 9th Dan
Go Ju Kempo Karate 9th Dan
Ketsugo Ryu Jujitsu 7th Dan
Shoto Jitsu Karate 6th Dan
American Judo 3rd Dan
Hapkido 3rd Dan
Shotokan Karate 2nd Dan
Throughout his leadership Sensei Daniels has promoted over 30 students to black belts and he has been fortunate enough that his two highest ranking students continue to train and teach alongside him at the dojo. Master Nita Mobley holds 8th Dan rank in Go Ju Kempo, 5th Dan in Ketsugo Ryu Jujitsu, 5th Dan in Shoto Jitsu Karate, 4th Dan Shoto Jitsu Jujitsu, and 1st Dan in Hapkido. Also instructing alongside the three Masters are Mrs. Stephanie Sullens and Mrs. Macy Sullens Shriver, which both hold the ranking of 3rd Dan in Go Ju Kempo Karate as well as 2nd Dan in Ketsugo Ryu Jujitsu and 2nd Dan in Shoto Jitsu Jujitsu.
