You can’t always measure what’s happening between the ears.
But you can measure what shows up in the decision-making process.
That’s why I built the Field General Index (FGI) — a system designed to quantify quarterback decision-making under pressure and speed.
Pillar 1: Accuracy — 70 Points
Decision quality carries the most weight.
Each quarterback is graded on 10 reps:
Correct decisions = earned points
Wrong decisions = automatic zero
Formula:
Accuracy Score = (Correct Decisions ÷ 10) × 70
The goal is simple: reward consistency, discipline, and high-level decision-making.
Pillar 2: Processing Speed — 30 Points
Next, we measure how quickly:
Read → Decision → Action
Only correct reps are included in the average time.
Faster processing = higher score.
But speed never outweighs bad decisions.
💡 Spotlight: Grant Powell
Top-rated in decision-making among every quarterback tested.
Average decision time: 1.91 seconds
▪️Elite processing speed
▪️High-level decision consistency
▪️Fast recognition and commitment
▪️Low hesitation under pressure
▪️Strong bounce-back ability after bad reps
This is what clean quarterbacking looks like in real time:
See it. Trust it. Go.
The Field General Index is built to turn something invisible into something measurable.
