Wanting to add more plant-based foods to your diet or even experiment with eating 100% plant-based?
A good way to start is by incorporating a variety of fresh vegetables and fruits in your daily diet, in a rainbow of colors. Don't forget root vegetablzs like beets and turnips, and eight generous servings of dark leafy greens . Not only are they packed with vitamins and antioxidants, but fiber too, which will contribute to the health of your gut Microbiome. If you're going 100% vegan, be sure to supplement with vitamin B12 and track your protein grams at least initially to ensure that you are getting an adequate amount of protein for your body weight every day.
Be sure that you prepare your vegetables in healthy way, eating them raw, lightly steamed or sautéed in extra-virgin olive oil, and always choose organically grown fruits and vegetables. Grow them yourself if you can!
