I have always love animals, especially horses, having my own has been always been a dream for as long as I can remember.
2023 was my 1st year getting involved in any type of barrel racing or any equestrian sport. I have met a lot of great people & Iāve learned a lot of valuable, most of which happened on the back of my horse. My first horse to be exact. Tulsa, my Palamino, was 18-19 years old. She didnāt have all the speed but one thing she never lacked was heart.. that mare always gave me 110% even on a bad day. Itās all about reading their body language. She was a sweet soul & my best friend but she wanted a simple life, not one where she was running can all the time. Thankfully I was patient on making the call.. now sheās with a sweet girl who just wants to learn how to ride & improve her horsemanship. She loves Tulsa & Tulsa seems to love her plus I still have the ability to see her whenever I want, we text, send pictures & already plan to ride together come summer time. I canāt wait. I will say I miss Tulsa more than any words can say, she will forever be my saving graceā¦ many donāt know but I lost my dog Dixie during the Louisiana wildfires in 2023, that was a tough one. But ironically enough, when I traded/sold Tulsa it was for a beautiful big thick mare named Dixie. . I feel as if maybe God was listening & put her in my life when I needed a sign the most..
that being said ā¦ 2024 Iām coming! Dixie is coming! & I hope that together we will be making some serious moves in the barrel racing world. I know we wonāt make it pro over night, in a month or even in a year but I hope that we are both able to preform to the best of our abilities with clean runs & fast times.
We have a lot of work to do & currently the weather isnāt in our favor but that that just means we have to work harder & long hours when the days & weather will allow.
