🚨 NO BLUFF — JUST RESULTS.

Ezra Salas went from 52.4 MPH to 58.5 MPH exit velocity, and that improvement didn’t happen by accident.

Ezra has been putting in the work, staying committed to his training, and developing a strong, consistent swing. The numbers speak for themselves.

But his development goes beyond hitting.

Ezra has also grown into a dependable outfielder, learning how to track the baseball and take better routes, while continuing to develop behind the plate as a catcher.

He is becoming the type of versatile player who can help his team in multiple ways.

📈 Better hitter.
⚾ Better defender.
🦍 Better baseball player.

At Silverback Performance, we’re not just giving athletes reps. We’re developing complete baseball players.

High school boys are in full effect. 💪⚾️

Today’s push-pull session focused on developing overhead strength and learning how to properly contract and control the back.

The boys worked through:
• Strict military press
• Supinated-grip barbell rows
• Sled pulls to the chest

Every athlete worked at his own level, pushed himself, and competed alongside his teammates.

At Silverback Performance, we don’t just work on hitting, pitching, and fielding. We’re developing complete athletes.

Strength. Movement. Baseball skill. Accountability.

The goal is to make sure our athletes continue developing physically so they’re prepared to perform at a higher level when it matters.

**Eight years old and already learning how to use the whole field. ⚾🦍**

RJ Laredo has been training at Silverback for over a year and currently plays for **Son of God Baseball**.

One of our focuses with RJ has been allowing the ball to travel, staying through the middle, and learning to drive the ball the other way instead of trying to pull everything.

For only eight years old, his numbers are impressive—**nearly 60 MPH exit velocity** with plenty of power already there.

But what stands out most is how hard RJ works. He shows up, listens, makes adjustments, and we’re seeing that work carry over into games.

Keep working, RJ. There’s a lot more to come. 💪🦍

Make the adjustment. Trust it. Let it rip. ⚾🦍

7-year-old Landon White working through some soft toss with our heavy-barrel bat.

The focus was simple: stay back and use his hands.

Landon started pulling his head out, so we gave him an adjustment. He listened, made the correction, and then absolutely crushed the baseball. 💥

For seven years old, this kid already has a really good swing. More importantly, he’s learning how to take instruction and make adjustments.

Keep working, Landon! 🦍

Look at their faces. 😂🦍

They’re getting ready to compete in the 5-10-5, but this is one of my favorite parts of training.

Friends competing against friends. Kids competing against athletes they just met. Everyone wanting to win—and having a blast doing it.

Speed and agility training should make them better athletes, but at this age, we also want them to compete, build confidence, and enjoy the work.

Sometimes a little competition brings out the best in them. 💪⚾

When the work in practice shows up in the game. 🥎🦍

Georgia Kahlig is an 11-year-old softball player with Bombshell 12U who has been working with us on her fielding.

A big part of our focus has been improving her footwork, getting to the ball quicker, and handling slow rollers.

This weekend, she got to put that work into action.

Georgia made a play down the line that potentially saved an extra-base hit, using the same footwork and movement we’ve been working on in training.

That’s what we want to see.

Train it. Trust it. Use it when it matters.

Great work, Georgia! 💪🥎

“Team practice is NOT individual development.”

“My son practices baseball three days a week.”

Okay.

But how much of that practice is actually focused on what your son needs?

A team may have 11–13 players.

One player needs help with his swing.

Another needs throwing mechanics.

Another needs footwork.

Another needs to learn how to block.

Another needs to get stronger.

Another needs more confidence.

Those players do not all need the same thing.

Meanwhile, the team coach still has to work on:

Defense.

Cuts and relays.

Bunt defense.

First and third situations.

Pitching.

Hitting.

Baserunning.

Signs.

Game preparation.

And somehow fit all of that into a 90-minute or two-hour practice.

Team practice is important.

But team practice teaches athletes how to play together.

Individual development builds the skills each athlete brings to the team.

Those are not the same thing.

And expecting a team coach to completely develop every individual player during team practice is unrealistic.

Here’s the question:

Should parents expect team practice alone to be enough for a player who wants to seriously improve?

Curious where coaches and parents stand on this one. 👇
