• Loves hunting, fishing, guns, firearm accessories, outdoor gear, etc.

• Retired OR has flexible work-from-home hours.
• Comfortable answering phones, calling people back, replying to customer service emails/texts/chats.
• MUST be comfortable on a computer — lots of browser tabs, internet research, basic ecommerce systems, etc.
• Comfortable small-talking with outdoorsmen for LONG periods of time 😂
JOB:
Customer Service & Sales for TLO Outdoors
TLO Outdoors is my personal ecommerce brand. The business is designed to run through the website… BUT our customer demographic is mostly middle-aged to retired men.
A lot of them don’t want to “submit a support ticket.”
They want to CALL somebody.
They want to TALK to somebody.
They want to tell you about:
• their deer lease
• their war stories
• their knife collection
• their grandkids
• why this one particular scope mount from 1997 was the greatest one ever made
😂
We don’t currently have enough phone volume to justify a full-time employee, so I’m looking for someone who is typically just “around” during business hours.
Example:
• Retired
• Semi-retired
• Work-from-home
• Self-employed
• Flexible schedule
• Stay-at-home spouse who likes people and knows the niche
Main responsibilities:
• Answer incoming calls
• Return missed calls within an hour or two
• Respond to customer service emails/texts/chats
• Help customers place orders
• Occasionally calm people down when USPS does USPS things
If you happen to be local to Brunswick / St. Simons:
• Possibly helping ship orders
• Processing returns
• Basic warehouse/helping hands stuff occasionally
There’s also potential for additional work:
• Adding products to the website
• Uploading images/videos
• Product optimization
• Basic ecommerce admin tasks
PAY:
Still figuring that out.
Full transparency: in my mind this is more of a “little extra money on the side” type role versus a traditional job.
Probably somewhere in the $500–$1,000/month range depending on availability and workload. Maybe a couple hundred bucks a week. Rough guess is probably around $20/hr equivalent, but honestly I haven’t fully tracked the phone volume yet.
The pay will be fair for the actual time required.
BIGGEST THING:
You need to genuinely LIKE talking to people.
These customers call because they want human interaction. They are often older, patient, talkative guys who simply enjoy conversation.
So if you’re the kind of person who can happily spend 30 minutes talking hunting, fishing, military stories, grandkids, knives, trucks, and America… while also eventually getting their address and credit card entered for an order where we might make $10 profit…
…you might be perfect for this 😂
