We have all heard the same advice to “be a team player“. But what happens when we take that advice to the extreme and no longer seem like a good fit for that next leadership position?
You see there is a difference between being “kind” and “too nice.”
Not only can “too nice“ lead to stress and burnout as we take more and more on. It can send a message that we are too busy or incapable of more critical matters. 🤯
Being “busy“ does not mean we are being “effective”.
And it is that efficacy and business impact that is truly considered when the leadership team reviews options for potential promotions or when they are making downsizing decisions. 💰
