Here’s what’s happening this week:

🚦 Tuesday (8/4) – Gate Practice | 6:00–8:00 PM
Come get those gates dialed in before a busy week of racing!

🏁 Wednesday (8/5) – Diamond Series Race at Crow River BMX!
Registration: 6:00–7:00 PM
Racing to follow.

🏅 MEDAL NIGHT! 🏅
We’re switching things up this week! Instead of our traditional trophies, 1st-3rd will take home medals. The kids absolutely LOVE these, and we can’t wait to hand them out!

🚲 Thursday (8/6) – Community Open Ride | 6:00–8:00 PM
FREE and open to everyone! Bring a friend and come see what BMX is all about.

💎 Also Thursday: Head over to Pineview Park BMX for another Diamond Series Race! If you’re chasing series points, don’t miss it!

🔒 Friday (8/7) – Track Closed
Many of our volunteers will be traveling to I-94 BMX for the State Qualifier this weekend. Safe travels and good luck to all of our Crow River riders! 🖤 💛

🦆 RACE DAY UPDATE 🦆

Well… we tried to reason with the ducks.

Unfortunately, they refused to listen.

After spending the morning false starting, cutting the gate, and generally being terrible sports, they’ve officially claimed the track for themselves. We can’t let those cheaters set that kind of example. 😉

With the rain continuing to pour and the track taking on more water than wheels, tonight’s race has been CANCELLED.

As always, the safety of our riders, volunteers, and the condition of the track comes first. We’d rather miss one race than damage the track or put anyone at risk.

The ducks can keep their puddles and their questionable race tactics. We’ll be back as soon as Mother Nature gives us a fair gate.

Stay dry, and don’t trust any duck that says they “timed the gate perfectly.” We all know they were guessing.

💲 FREE to ride!

Whether you’ve never been on a BMX track or you’re looking for a fun family activity, Open Ride is the perfect chance to give it a try.

🚲 Bike Rentals Available – $10 (Open Ride only)
⛑ Helmet Rentals Available
💛 Our volunteers will be on hand to help new riders get comfortable on the track.

What to Bring:
✅ Long pants
✅ Long sleeves
✅ Closed-toe shoes
✅ Helmet (full-face recommended)

Please Note:
• Check in at concessions before riding.
• Balance bikes ride on the last straight only.
• Pedal bike riders should already be comfortable riding a two-wheel bike on flat ground before entering the BMX track.
• Parents must remain off the track except when assisting balance bike riders.

What a way to wrap up our very first Balance Bike League! ❤️🚲

Tonight we celebrated 16 incredible riders, all under 5 years old, as they completed the first-ever Crow River BMX Balance Bike League!

For four weeks, these riders, their families, and our amazing volunteer coaches showed up through some absolutely BRUTAL Minnesota heat. We survived with fans, popsicles, gallons of water, and a whole lot of determination!

Over the course of the league, these little riders learned so much—from controlling their bikes and improving their starts to picking up their feet down the hills, building confidence, and having FUN every step of the way.

This wasn’t just a first for Crow River BMX—it was the first Balance Bike League of its kind in Minnesota, and we couldn’t be more proud of how it turned out.

As we watched these kids cross the finish line tonight, our hearts were full. We were blown away by the dedication of every rider, the encouragement from every family, and the countless hours our volunteers poured into making this program a success.

We can’t wait to watch these future BMX stars continue to grow—whether that’s joining us for gate practice, lining up for local single-point races, or eventually taking their skills across the state.

To every Balance Bike League family: thank you for trusting us, showing up, and helping make history with us. You made this a league we’ll never forget. 💙

🏁 IT’S RACE DAY AT CROW RIVER BMX! 🏁

The gates are dropping tonight, and it’s an extra special evening at the Crow!

🎉 Tonight is the FIRST OFFICIAL RACE for our Balance Bike League! After weeks of learning, building confidence, and having fun, our youngest riders will line up under the gate for their very first races. We couldn’t be more excited to celebrate them!

🏆 Balance Bike League awards will be presented after racing balance bike racing.
