The Mike’s continued state tourney play this afternoon with a 5-1 win over Sartell in the last of 3 pool games. We advanced as the red pool champion (3-0) to play the semi-final game vs Grand Rapids.

In the night cap, the Mike’s won 7-1 to advance to the quarter finals tomorrow am vs Excelsior. The winner will have a chance at the state championship and a trip to mandan for the central plains regional tourney next week.

12:30 at Essig, MN vs Sartell (Pool Game)

Our first game of bracket will be 8:00 or 8:30 pm back in New Ulm.

What a day for the boys in baby blue yesterday!

Game 1- The Mike’s went extra innings with St. Louis Park and walked them off in the bottom of the 8th. A clutch performance to get the weekend started in the right direction.

Game 2- The Mike’s win 7-1 against the host team New Ulm. What a great experience to play in front of a packed stadium at the beautiful Johnson Park.

Today we play Sartell to determine the Pool Champion, win or lose the Mike’s will advance to Saturday’s bracket play.

The Mike’s are headed back to the Minnesota American Legion State Tournament!!!

The boys battled hard all week, and found themselves in the losers bracket after a tough game 3 loss to Champlin Park. We then managed to walk off Totino in game 4 and beat Champlin Park 5-1 & 8-1 to advance as Substate 8 Champions.

The Mike’s start their bid for another state championship Wednesday in New Ulm.
