St. Marys Sportsmen’s Club Scholastic Clay Target Program

The St. Marys Sportsmen’s Club will host its annual Scholastic Clay Target Program for youth ages 12–18 from June 8–12, 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM daily.

Participants will learn the fundamentals of trap shooting, including firearm safety, proper shooting techniques, clay target shooting, and even the basics of reloading shotgun shells. Safety will be emphasized throughout the program. While completion of a Hunter-Trapper Education course is recommended, it is not required.

The St. Marys Sportsmen’s Club will provide all necessary equipment at no cost to participants.

This program is an excellent opportunity for students interested in developing their shooting skills, especially those considering participation on a high school trap shooting team.

Pre-registration is required. To register or for more information, contact Tony Aiello at 814-389-8592.

We look forward to seeing you there!

Warm weather and abundant sunshine prevailed for the St. Marys Sportsmen’s Club’s annual Kids’ Fishing Day on Sunday, drawing a crowd to the club as youngsters tried their hands at reeling in a trophy catch.

St. Marys Sportsmen’s Club Vice President Bill Simbeck indicated roughly an hour into the three-hour event, which took place for 1-4 p.m., that things had been going well.

“The weather is great, so that brings a lot of people out,” Simbeck said.

We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who helped make the purchase of our new 2026 Can-Am 6x6 side-by-side possible. Through generous donations and grant funding, our Club was able to secure this important piece of equipment that will benefit our property, events, and operations for years to come.

A special thank you to:

• Elk County Community Fund
• Harrison and Muriel Dauer Stackpole Family Fund
• Serianni Family Fund
• Elk County Commissioners for the Act 13 Grant
• Doris E. Stackpole Fund

Your generosity, support, and belief in our Club truly mean the world to us. Projects like this would not be possible without the support of our community, donors, and grant organizations.

We are proud to continue improving our facilities and equipment for the benefit of our members and guests, and we sincerely thank everyone who played a part in making this happen.
