High school basketball season may be over, but our Lady Dutch players are still out there doing big things in the community!
Today was Mini THON at St. Marys Area Middle School, and Lady Dutch senior Jenna Groll and junior Taylor Gornati were among the high school students who volunteered to help out with the event, which raises funds to benefit the fight against pediatric cancer. This year, middle school students, including members of our 6th, 7th, and 8th grade Lady Dutch basketball teams, raised $36,635.45 for Four Diamonds!

Today it was announced that Lady Dutch senior Molly Hanslovan was named to the 2026 YDL Sports Network's Girls' Second Team All-District 9!

Lady Dutch senior Molly Hanslovan wrapped up her high school basketball career competing in today’s sixth annual Clarion County YMCA/YDL Sports Network Girls’ All-Star Basketball Game at the Clarion County YMCA!
As a member of Team Elensky, Molly had the opportunity to play alongside and against some of the top seniors from District 9 and District 10 in a game that consisted of four 10-minute quarters. Mo scored 10 points in the contest: four in both the first and third quarters and two in the fourth quarter. Team Helsel won the game by a score of 106-91.
Joining Molly on Team Elensky were DCC’s Julia Sebring and Ella Elensky, Karns City’s Naomi Venesky, Brockway’s Sophia Schmader, ECC’s Payton Newton and Lena Polaski, Brookville’s Samantha Whitling, Port Allegany’s Brynn Evens, Union/A-C Valley’s Maddy Dehart, and Oil City’s Payton Liederbach. Team Elensky was coached by Jordan Hoover (DCC) and Jamie Evens (Port Allegany).
Molly also had some extra support at today’s game as fellow Lady Dutch Basketball senior Jenna Groll, statistician Alison Mertz, and supporter Addison Beimel came to cheer her on!

Lady Dutch senior Molly Hanslovan was in action as a member of Team Pennsylvania in today’s Big 30 Girls’ Basketball Senior Classic in Portville, N.Y. The game consisted of two 20-minute halves, and there was a 30-second shot clock. Mo scored five points in the game, making a layup in the first half and hitting a three in the second. However, arguably her biggest play came in the final seconds. With Team Pennsylvania trying to hold on to a slim lead, she broke up a Team New York pass and forced a turnover with about seven seconds remaining, sealing the 59-57 victory for Team Pennsylvania!

The 2026 tagline is “Care You Can Count On,” and St. Marys Area Athletic Trainer Ashley Mulcahy certainly provides this for our athletes. Yesterday afternoon, members of the Lady Dutch joined with members of the Flying Dutchmen to present a check to Georgia Wagner from the Christian Food Bank from this year’s Pass With Purpose initiative held by Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home. Through Pass With Purpose, Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home pledged to donate $1 for every assist made during regular season home games to a local organization of each team’s choice. Both St. Marys Area teams chose the Christian Food Bank to be the recipient of the funds they raised, and Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home graciously doubled the amount so that the food bank benefitted from $456 in funds. Thank you to Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home for starting Pass With Purpose and giving our players the opportunity to turn something they did on the court into funds that benefitted the community!
