Im running a **5K every single day throughout the entire month of April** (that’s 30 consecutive runs!)—**in full firefighting turnout gear** (bunker pants, coat, Airpack, and all the heavy protective equipment that weighs 40–60+ pounds)—to raise money for **local cancer patients’ transportation needs**. As a firefighter, I know firsthand how cancer hits our community hard, and reliable rides to treatments can make all the difference by reducing stress and preventing missed appointments. Every grueling, sweat-soaked mile I log in this gear will directly fund gas cards, rideshare credits (Uber/Lyft), or volunteer driver coordination through partnerships like the American Cancer Society’s Road to Recovery or a dedicated local support fund.
I’m actively seeking sponsors for each individual run/day: businesses, fire departments, organizations, families, or individuals can “adopt” a specific day (or multiple) with a contribution that powers that day’s efforts, with the extra weight of the gear making every sponsorship feel even more heroic. In return, you’ll get prominent recognition like daily social media shout-outs and progress videos/photos of me running in full turnout gear, your name/logo featured in recaps and impact reports, a personalized thank-you highlighting the real patients helped, and the pride of knowing you’re supporting neighbors facing cancer while honoring the firefighter community’s own fight against occupational cancer.
This isn’t just a fitness challenge—it’s a visible symbol of endurance and service turned into tangible help for our local community. If you’d like to sponsor a day (or sponsor the whole month), please reply or reach out directly so we can lock in your date and get your name on the journey. Let’s make April a month of sweat, miles, and meaningful impact together—every step in the gear counts toward getting patients where they need to go!
