Congratulations to CSB softball senior shortstop Olivia Tautges, who was named to the NFCA All-America first team today! The All-America honor is the second for Tautges, who capped her career with her third All-Region honor, second MIAC Player of the Year distinction and third All-MIAC award.

BERG, KENNEY NAMED ALL-REGION

Seniors Lauren Berg and Mary Kenney of College of Saint Benedict Track & Field earned All-Region honors for the 2026 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field season, as announced by the USTFCCCA.

Both Berg and Kenney had recording-breaking performances at the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championships which placed them 18th (5th, region) and 34th (4th region) respectively in DIII.

BERG PLACES 15TH - SET TO EARN 2ND TEAM-ALL-AMERICAN HONORS

In her first appearance at the NCAA Division III Track and Field Championships, senior Lauren Berg of College of Saint Benedict Track & Field finished 15th and will earn second team All-American honors in the 400-meter hurdles.

In the preliminary round on Thursday in La Crosse, Wis, the senior from Bemidji, Minn., moved up three spots from her national ranking of 18th. She clocked 1:02.29 and had the highest finish ever at nationals by a CSB performer in the 400-meter hurdles. With a top 16 finish, she receives second team All-American honors.

DIII CHAMPIONSHIPS MEET DAY - Senior Lauren Berg of College of Saint Benedict Track & Field will compete in the 400-meter hurdles prelims at 5:10 p.m., on Thursday, May 21 at the Division III Track and Field Championships at Veterans Memorial Field Sports Complex in La Crosse, Wis. Berg, who owns the school record in the event at 1:01.49, will be in the second heat.

Magnifi Financial Bennie Feature - Senior Lauren Berg of College of Saint Benedict Track & Field is focused and ready for her final competition as a Bennie.

Berg will compete on Thursday in the 400-meter hurdles at the NCAA Division III Track and Field Championships in La Crosse, Wis. Berg is the school's record holder in the event (1:01.49) and will compete for the first time at nationals.

"This is what I've been working so hard for every season I've been here...It's s so exciting to think I still get to compete one final time," said Berg. "I have one more chance to put on that jersey and run as a Bennie. As a senior, you can't ask for a better ending than this."

FREEBERG NAMED ATHLETE OF WEEK

Sophomore Lauren Freeberg of the No. 19 College of Saint Benedict Softball (36-11), who hit .444 and earned all-regional tourney honors at the NCAA DIII Regional in Simpson, Iowa, has been named The House Food and Tap / St. Cloud Orthopedics CSB Athlete of the Week.

Freeberg hit .444 (8-of-18) during the regional with eight hits, eight RBI, a home run and two doubles while posting a .722 slugging percentage and .474 on-base percentage. She was one of three CSB players named to the NCAA DIII Regional All Tournament Team.

Congratulations to CSB softball head coach Rachael Click who was selected by her peers as the MIAC Softball Coach of the Year! The award makes Click the first individual in any sport to be selected as the MIAC Rookie of the Year, MIAC Player of the Year and MIAC Coach of the Year.

CLICK, TAUTGES, PETERSON EARN MIAC SPECIAL HONORS

After a season filled with historic accomplishments, the College of Saint Benedict Softball team was rewarded Monday with a host of postseason honors from the MIAC.

CSB had success that was reflected in the conference awards as senior Olivia Tautges earned MIAC Player of the Year honors for the second time, senior Ellie Peterson was named MIAC Pitcher of the Year for the second time in three seasons and head coach Rachael Click was selected MIAC Coach of the Year for the first time in program history.

Saint Benedict had five All-MIAC selections, three named Honorable Mention All--MIAC and four selected to the MIAC All-Playoff Team. Tautges and Peterson were joined on the All-MIAC first team by sophomore outfielder Lily Treml, senior first baseman Cat Smetana and senior Olivia Wallace. Senior Tuscany Ballot, sophomore Lauren Freeberg and senior Olivia Van Hout received honorable mention recognition.

In addition, Peterson, Smetana, Bryn Ruhberg and Sammy Muetzel were named to the MIAC All-Playoff Team.

The Bennies set a school record with 36 wins, captured both the MIAC regular-season and playoff championships and advanced to the NCAA Division III Regional Championship round during a memorable 2026 campaign.
