Metro Kids Wrestling - St Joseph, MO Youth Wrestling program in the St. Joseph Metro area. 6 & under up to 14 & under. Feeder program to This includes USAW card, gear package and team singlet usage.

$150 for the first child, $100 for each additional child for the season. Personalized Singlet's can be purchased. Kids will also need wrestling shoes, and headgear. We also have some headgear and slightly used shoes for $20 each. Season typically runs Nov-March. Practices will be held in the fieldhouse behind Benton HS.

We will practice next week at Benton (Tuesday and Wednesday) before heading to Springfield, for those still competing or want to help them as partners. Those that have finished up, please plan to drop off singlets at practice.

First off I would like to say congratulations to all the Metro Kids who stepped the line and competed today at the District 1 tournament. A lot of tough competition was seen throughout the day... Some came up a little short today from qualifying to the State tournament. I hope that helps fuel the fire in the coming seasons to continue to learn and grow is this great sport....

*** All, Unfortunately Savannah is not able to host a remote weigh in Saturday night for Districts...

All kids will need to weigh in at Winnetonka HS Saturday evening from 630-8 pm. Or Am session (8u & 10u) Sunday 730-8am. Pm session (12u & 14u) Sunday 1130-12pm. Kids must weigh in wearing singlets. Make sure nails are trimmed up.

Boys, top 4 finishers qualify for State. I have to verify and pay for all State Qualifiers. Parents make sure you talk to me before you leave if your kid is planning to go to State.. State entry fee is $45.

Reminder.... District tournament entries are due tomorrow at practice. $35 cash or check made out to Metro Wrestling.

The sign up sheet is posted at Benton in the classroom.

I will submit all kids entries as a team with accurate wins and loss records. And pay as a club. Parents make sure your child is in the correct weight class. As there are no changes after submitted.

Also Team pictures will be tomorrow at practice... We will end practice around 650-7 to take photos. Please plan to attend, and have kids in either team singlets or team gear.

District tournament information.. Sunday 3/8/26 at Winnetonka HS

I will be submitting all district entries and paying fees as a club. I will have a signup sheet posted at Benton. Deadline to sign up and pay fees is Wednesday February 18th at practice. I will also be submitting current win / loss records for seeding purposes. Top 4 kids qualify for State tournament the following week in Springfield.

District is a split session tournament, pay attention to session times for age groups. Kids will HAVE to weigh in, and pass skin checks in club singlet with copy of usaw card on lanyard. I will provide these. Make sure you put correct weight on signup sheet. There are no changes after deadline.

All,

We will not have practices the week of February 24, and February 25. Coach Walters and myself will be in Columbia for HS State. And will not be available to get into the HS facilities.

Kids get outside, and work on some cardio (Run,Jog, etc). Shadow wrestling at home (Stance & motion, sprawls, etc).

We will be back at it on Tuesday the 3rd, and Wednesday the 4th. Preparing for Districts on Sunday March 8th.

Team Picture night will be Wednesday February 18th at practice. Rachelle Cameron will take some group photos. Team, age group, etc. Parents can take individual photos on their phones. Kids should plan to wear club singlets or club gear for pictures.
