Team In the Box Fishing Charters fished the Bellman Memorial Pro/Am in Michigan City last weekend. Day One was cancelled due to waves, but thankfully Day Two was beautiful.

Capt Jarrod must be a little rusty on the reels from years of customers doing all the hard work—He lost a BIG STEELIE that would have put them in contention. The highlight of the day was the Magnum Metalz downriggers pulling up hogs from the depths. We weighed a 18.5 lb lake trout that won Big Fish of the tournament and landed us in 5th Place overall.

Wow, what a catch these guys had today 💥 The trip started out a little choppy, but we ended up with an amazing day out on the Big Lake.

With this inconsistent Spring weather that has turned the lake chalky, we have had to go find the action out further in the deep blue water. This deep offshore fishing really puts your gear to the test.

We fish with the best riggers in the game that support this deep water program. Magnum Metalz is the only rigger that can withstand lifting our 20 and 25 lb rigger balls from the bottom of the lake—no matter the depth, no matter the abuse—and they perform day in and day out without a hitch. This is our 10th season now rocking these riggers and we couldn’t imagine fishing with anything else.
