All members should have received an email today regarding an upcoming 16 hour CCL class that will be held at the club and taught by Bill Smoot. The class details and Bill's contact information are copied below, please contact him with any questions.

"I have reserved the St. Joseph Sportsman's Club on Sunday May 18th and June 1st for an Illinois 16 Hour CCL Class to obtain an original carry license. Class will begin each day at 8:00 am and a student should expect to devote the day for the class. Day #1 usually ends before Day #2. Day #2 may last until 6:00 pm before I start to issue training certificates.

Tuition for the class will be $185. Those with Illinois State Police Approved Training Credit (Military Service and some other States carry license training for example) will receive reduced tuition. Eight hours of such training allows a student to waive attendance of Day #1. Day #2 has all the required curriculum that they need. Many with such Training Credit do attend both days and still receive a tuition discount.

Just so you know: a person does not need to have a FOID card to attend this training class. There is an exception in the FOID law allowing fi****ms training for a person so long as the instructor or a fellow student with a FOID transports and supplies ammunition for the student. I have several handguns available for a person to borrow for class. We will discuss handgun selection during the first morning of class.

Also, some who have inquired about basic handgun safety and marksmanship training. I allow such interested students to attend day #1 of the CCL Class to receive such curriculum. Tuition for Day #1 will be $110.

Reminder of our open to the public trap and s***t range times, come out and shoot!

$4.00 per round - members
$5.00 per round - non-members

Wednesdays 4:00-9:00 PM (s***t practice the entire time; trap practice 4:00 - 6:30, then trap games start at 6:30)

Saturdays 12:00 - 4:00 PM (both ranges open for practice the entire time)

In addition, we have ongoing Annie Tournaments (trap) the 2nd Sunday of every month (starting at 10:00 AM) and the 5th Saturday of the month (starting at 6:30 PM, when there are 5 Saturdays).
