The St. Joseph Girls Track & Field team finished 5th out of 16 teams in a competitive field April 11th at the Gull Lake Invitational. Notable performances include:

Naia Dibkey: 1st in 100m (12.94), 2nd in 200m (26.62), and 2nd in 400m (1:00.51).

Elena Figueroa: 1st in 3200m (11:28.55) and 3rd in 1600m (5:17.71).

Audrey Kline: 4th in 3200m (12:07.29, PR).

The 4x800 Relay team of Lily Cummings, Shelby Lawrence, Isabelle LaPorte, and Elena Figueroa earned a fantastic 2nd place finish (10:09.54a)!

Corinne Martindale: PR in Shot Put (19' 1").

The St. Joseph Boys' Track & Field team dominated the competition on April 11th, securing a fantastic 1st PLACE TEAM FINISH! Several athletes had outstanding performances, including:

The St. Joseph Boys Track & Field team captured 1st place in a dominant performance! Highlights include:

James Atterberry: 2nd in 100m (11.31, PR), 6th in 200m (23.35), and key contributor to the winning 4x100m relay (43.47).

Sebastian Galicia Cuazitl: 7th in 100m (11.59, PR), also a part of the victorious 4x100m relay team.

Rusty Klaer: 1st in Shot Put (49' 9.5") and 1st in Discus (148' 11").

Eli Johansen: 3rd in 3200m (10:08.31) and 4th in 1600m (4:34.48).

4x100m Relay Team: Took 1st place with a stellar time of 43.47!

Congratulations to all athletes on PRs and top finishes. Keep the momentum going, Bears!

🎉 GVSU Lakers Challenge Recap – St. Joseph Girls Track & Field 🐻🏃‍♀️

Our Lady Bears started out their season at the GVSU Lakers Challenge with top finishes, personal records, and outstanding performances across the board! Here's how they shined:

🔥 Sprints
Freshman standout Trenyse McGinnis raced to a PR of 8.02 in the 60m Dash Finals, taking 8th place! Savanna Bates (8.66 PR) and Gabby Fiesbeck (8.81 PR) also delivered strong performances.
In the 200m, Gabby set a PR of 28.74, while Savanna clocked in at 29.55 PR—way to go, ladies!

🔥 Middle Distance
Naia Dibkey dominated the 400m, winning the event with a season-best 58.54! Shelby Lawrence (1:07.60 SR) and Arianna Schmidt (1:16.60 SR) also had solid runs.
Elena Figueroa raced to 3rd in the 800m with a time of 2:21.75, while Lily Cummings (2:32.49 SR) wasn’t far behind.
In the 1600m, Beatrice Perucchetti crushed a PR with 5:34.31, followed closely by Isabelle LaPorte (5:36.59 SR) and Audrey Kline (5:36.88).

💪 Hurdles & Relays
Charlotte Steel clocked a PR of 10.12 in the 60m Hurdles Prelims and finished 15th in the finals.
The 4x300 Relay team of Trenyse McGinnis, Charlotte Steel, Addison Covert, and Naia Dibkey took 3rd place with a blazing 2:54.22!
The 4x600 Relay squad of Shelby Lawrence, Lily Cummings, Alaina Wheaton, and Elena Figueroa finished 5th with a strong time of 7:21.27.

🏋️‍♀️ Field Events
Gabby Fiesbeck cleared 4’ 10” in the High Jump for a new PR, while Sarah Bennett vaulted 8’ 0” in the Pole Vault.
In the Shot Put, Layla Garcia led the way with a mark of 24’ 7.25”, and Laina Todd hit a PR of 21’ 5.25”!
Freshman Harlee Kimball jumped a PR of 14’ 0.75” in the Long Jump, with Addison Covert hitting 14’ 10”.

🎉 GVSU Lakers Challenge Recap – St. Joseph Boys Track & Field 🐻🏃‍♂️

The St. Joseph Boys Track and Field team Started their season out Thursday at the GVSU Lakers Challenge, racking up top finishes and a ton of PRs. Here’s how our boys performed:

🔥 Sprints
In the 60m Dash, James Atterberry blazed to a PR of 7.21 in the finals, finishing 12th! Freshman Sebastian Galicia had an awesome PR of 7.37, and Phoenix Lignell (7.51 PR) and Alex Hochstetler (7.74 PR) weren’t far behind.
In the 200m, Henry Robinson sprinted to 6th with a PR of 22.69, while James wasn’t far behind, placing 9th with a PR of 22.91. These boys are FAST!
In the 400m, Henry did it again, grabbing 6th place with another PR of 51.20. Chase King (58.06 PR) and Steve Owili (58.74 PR) kept the momentum going!

💪 Middle Distance & Relays
Patrick Conroy (5:27.52 PR) and Micah Maier (5:50.91 PR) had great races.
Our relays brought the energy! The 4x300 Relay team finished with a solid 2:38.57, and the 4x600 Relay clocked in at 6:12.94.

🏋️‍♂️ Field Events
BIG shoutout to Rusty Klaer, who launched the Shot Put 50’ 7.75” to finish 2nd! 💥 PRs abound with Tyler Erikson (35’ 5), and Evan Myers (34’ 4.75).
In the Long Jump, Chase Bingaman hit a big mark with 20’ 0”, and Dominick Lignell wasn’t far behind at 19’ 10”.

Way to go, Bears! 🐻💪 The hard work is paying off, and we’re excited to see what’s next. Keep it up! 👏💙💛
