At Swimming with MOE, you are no longer just swimming withe "Moe" the person, you are now swimming with MOE the acronym: We provide swimming lessons with Motivation, Opportunity, and Excellence. We offer private swim lesson on a half hour and/ or hourly basis. At this time, most of the lessons are based out of the Comfort Inn in St. Johnsbury, Vermont. te pool, lake or pond in/near the NEK we would be happy to travel to you. Maura was the the Head Swim Coach for the St. Johnsbury Academy Swim Club under New England Swimming from 2017- 2023. She graduated from the Academy in 2012- go Toppers! She holds a BA in Sociology in Criminology and Justice with a double minor in Political Science and Biology. She recently left the criminal justice and child protection field after five years to continue in higher education. Regardless, her love for kids, advocacy, and child protection is deeply rooted. Maura is now a Graduate Student at the University of Notre Dame. From Coach Maura:
Thank you so much for checking out our page! This is an exciting and new adventure for me. I never thought that offering private lessons as a side gig would turn into this amazing business, now employing additional instructors and building such an amazing community. I have been a trained Lifeguard and Swim Instructor for 12 years. I currently hold my Lifeguarding, CPR and AED, and Water Safety Instructor certifications. Additionally, I am a certified USA Swimming Coach, and hold Level 3 Certifications through the American Swim Coaches Association. I am also an active member of the International Swim Coaches Association. I have traveled for swim coach training from Vermont to Florida to California and everywhere in between to train under Olympic Coaches and athletes. I treat everyone with compassion and grace, regardless of skill level, age, race, sexual orientation, disabilities or political views. Special accommodations can, and will, be made to ensure that every child/ adult feels comfortable and has access to the water. I have extensive experience working with special needs students- in and out of the water, and truly enjoy volunteering my time to work with the Special Olympics Community. After June 2023 I will be moving to South Bend, Indiana for a year, however Swimming with MOE will continue with additional instructors. There is such a need for good, competent, competitive and compassionate swim instructors in the NEK and we are here to serve you!
