Tournament Director Notes
First, I want to say thank you to all of you who took the time to wish me well on my five day recovery from COVID and congratulated me on my round at Fernandina Beach, both unexpected and genuinely appreciated.
Second, we are in our 4th year as Tour Directors and this weekend was the first event I missed, had to watch from home and help remotely. It was painful to my soul, but my hat tip goes to The Sheriff for sharpening his spurs and running the show with blazing saddles. As we all know, the unexpected can hit at anytime and just like the course conditions, we just have to adjust and buckle up. Your patience and flexibility is outstanding and I am proud of the community we are building.
Lastly, the winner’s pictures will be featured in the next email announcing one of the cornerstone stops of the tour next Monday. I need a little more time making your mugshots look pretty. A very special thank you goes out to Drew Flavell for his sponsorship at North Hampton, he picked out the beautiful trophy and he has a very cool business with the Golf Adapter Store. Check it out!
I am ready to rock and roll again, so let’s get into it…

CHAMP - While we don’t operate like the LIV Golf League to guarantee player contracts, there has been a mysterious absence in our roster that’s been noticeable in the first two events. Well, he’s back and when he brings his entourage it seems like we get the feel of a full field. “Lethal” Lance LaCombe made his season debut along with “Wyld” Kyle Dotson and tour veteran Craig Tomlinson. With Lance missing in action, Alex Dienes has capitalized by winning the first two events without breaking 80. So even with him back, Alex found a way to bowl for the turkey - win three in a row, break 80, and score eagles in back-to-back events! This is also the first time I have seen ‘The Sheriff’ Steve Calhoun look up in the Points Race in quite some time. What I like even more, is to see “Wyld” Kyle close out his round with a very hard birdie on #18 to sweep the remaining Rollover Skins and beat his buddy, Lance, for second place. We are only a month into the season and I can’t get enough of what will shake out the rest of the season.

A Flight - According to “Mr. Worldwide” Dan Yoder, he had a front row seat to quite a show put on by Andy “Bring Yo’ Best” Hovest. For a course that gave everyone fits, Andy found a way to make a great round when everyone started cold as ice. He was 5-over par in his first 5 holes and succumbed to a double bogey on the par 3 #7. After that he had a pretty clean card, 2 birdies ( #11 & #15 both for super skins) and finished to tie Alex for Medalist at 78 (+6). Really impressive Andy! He is great off the tee and when he is mistake free he is hard to beat, so bring your best! Daniel Reynolds takes his first podium for second place and a birdie on the tricky #9 earned him a super skin worth 3 rollovers! Way to go!

B Flight - My personal bodyguard, Mike “Punch-Out” Perez finally found his way back in B Flight and got himself into a duel with Sean Ingram. They were shot-for-shot what seemed like the entire day. Sean’s birdie on #4 gave him a lot of momentum and three rollover skins, but ultimately Mike kept his ball in play just enough to claim the victory. He edged out Sean by two strokes and took home the crystal decanter.

C Flight - My fellow Packer backer Joe Bushor, goes back-to-back and claims victory in consecutive weekends. He shot 88 and was the lone wolf to break 90 in his flight. Shannon Lambert and last week’s runner-up, Noel Dawkins, were nipping at his heals, but ultimately Joe held on to have his arms full of trophies at the end of the day. He ain’t your average Joe!

D Flight - Josh Gray and Jason Harris couldn’t get enough of each other last weekend in their epic playoff before the snow fell, so they decided to keep the heat on at North Hampton. Josh won at Deercreek, Jason won at Fernandina Beach and this weekend Josh was the only player to break 100 and take his second victory in three events. I really enjoy seeing rivalries develop in our tour and now these two might close to Celebrity Deathmatch level soon. Listen in on the Golfweek Am Tour Podcast and hear from Jason when it gets published!

Cash Game

$30

($18) Rollover Super Super Skins ($1 per hole)

*The game will start on Hole #1 and end on #18 all season*
Please note that LIVESCORE will not reflect the amount per hole skin value accurately, you will use the number of players in the game, if we have 39 players in the game then $39 is the amount each hole is worth.
The Sheriff birdied the opening hole for 1 skin worth $39
Sean Ingram’s birdie on #4 gave him 3 total skins for $117
Tampa Tour’s Dylan Lautanen birdied #5 for $39 and he won CTP on #17 for $40
Alex Dienes made eagle on #6 for only 1 super skin (don’t worry he took home plenty last weekend 😉
Daniel Reynolds’ birdie on #9 gave him 3 super skins for $117
Andy Hovest’s birdie on #11 was worth 2 skins and his birdie on #15 was worth 2 skins, so he won 4 total and $156.
Hilton Head-Savannah Tour’s Marty Finder birdied #13 for 2 skins worth $78
Then Kyle Dotson birdied #18 for the last 3 super skins for $117 and no raffles!

First & foremost, Steve and I thank each of you for showing up and embracing the mystical weather of Florida on Saturday. We had 41 players show for the ONLY tournament in the Golfweek Nation this weekend. I find that special because many events were cancelled due to the weather. With that said, we ended up having 3 playoffs and some wild fun out there, let’s get into it…
*As a result of the weather, the trophies were delivered late to Steve’s house while we were playing so the pictures have one of our new sponsors as the trophy. I plan on raffling a bottle off every event to one lucky player. My only ask is that you share it with two other friends so we can spread the good word about it and get them some orders. Click on their logo below!

Champ -
Alex Dienes has already made a nice profit after two events and two wins, all by shooting 80 both times! Steve and I played with Michael Mitchell of the Richmond Tour and thought he would run away with it. He did not make any mistakes on the front, had 2 birdies and 2 bogeys and seemed on cruise control like he was driving his RV. The Sheriff, Steve, did not have any front nine birdies which is rare for him. But the back nine was a different story.
Alex EAGLED #10 and I heard he almost did it again on #13, but didn’t convert the birdie, and somewhere he had a hole out birdie on a par 3. Steve birdied #14 (to cut my birdie) and looked prime to close out the round on a run, until he hit a tree on #15 and made a double bogey. On the same hole, Michael hit a beautiful approach that looked like it was perfect, but it hit and rolled off the back. He subsequently had one of his two bad swings of the day and flubbed the chip. Sadly this disappointment rolled into his tee shot on the par 3 #16 with a miss hit and put in the water resulting in a triple bogey. Alex started cold like the morning temp with bogey and triple on his first two holes which were the last two of the South, only to birdie his last hole on #16 (cut my skin) and push them into a playoff. Alex and Michael went to one playoff hole and Alex closed the comeback with a birdie.
As a footnote, Jimmy Norton started his 2026 campaign in Champ flight after his 2-under par 70 at Nationals in A flight. Needless to say he saw all of the golf course on Saturday, but the golf Gods and the Wheel of Destiny had at least one consolation prize even though he made a nice off-the-green bridie on #9 - he won the raffle for Hill’s BBQ bottle!

A Flight -
“Tour Junkie” Brian Soukup already has 4 tournaments in his 2026 season before the the Orlando Tour has even kicked off…which they do this weekend at Stoneybrook West for a two-day. He has two second place finishes with Tampa (Plantation Palms) and North Florida (Deercreek), went to Duran with South Florida for sixth place and kidnapped John Hill to sneak in this event under the wire. Needless to say, he and John Hill know how to win some cash! Brian and TD Brandon tied for low Medalist with (+4) 77 in the event, now the second time A Flight has beat out Champ in consecutive events on the North Florida tour. Brian won in a playoff against TD Brandon to score his first victory of the season. Something tells me this rivalry between us will pick back up at Cabot or Nationals or even the Turkey Day Shootout in November!
John Hill, whether he was a B Flighter at Deercreek or A Flighter at Fernandina Beach, he still managed to go back home to Orlando with pockets full of cash. John birdied the dogleg right par 4 #15 and picked up 5 super skins and a flight skin worth a total of $222. This is after he won $190 at Deercreek and an axe!

B Flight -
If you had to look twice at the leaderboard and saw two Michael Mitchell’s in different flights, you weren’t cross-eyed or had double vision. Mike Mitchell of North Florida, pulled out a 1-stroke victory over Dave Schrott and Sean Ingram with a solid 85 in B Flight. Sean Ingram won the scorecard playoff for second place money over Dave as they both shot 86. Mike also won a Closest to the Pin for $38!

C Flight -
Joe Bushor continues to cash in this season as he had a second place finish at Deercreek and pulled out the victory in C Flight this weekend shooting 90. He edged out Noel Dawkins by 2 strokes who was fresh off the injured list and won’t let stitches get in the way of golf! Joe was sporting the lucky Green Bay Packer hoodie, channeling the powers of the Frozen Tundra to capture the win!

D Flight -
The story of the weekend belongs to the D Flight. Jason Harris lost his phone on the course. As he came in, he learned he had to battle in a playoff with Josh Gray who won at Deercreek in our first event. These two fought like crazy for 5 holes, over an hour of extra play as they had to endure the 35 mph winds that kicked up as we all got off the course. After going toe-to-toe with bogeys on the first 3 holes, they both tripled the long par 5 #2 on the West and then on #3 Jason made a bomb of a 15-foot putt to seal the victory. The other good news for him is his phone was found with the help of TD Steve after the round.
Ironically enough, on my drive home back to Gainesville, I saw snowflakes in the air. What wild day!

($18) Rollover Super Skins ($1 per hole)

*The game will start on Hole #1 and end on #18 all season*
Please note that LIVESCORE will not reflect the amount per hole skin value accurately, you will use the number of players in the game.
38 players in the game = $38 each hole for rollover game

Scott Johnson of the Hilton Head-Savannah Tour birdied #1 on the West
Joe Bushor had the lone birdie on the long par 5, #2
Mike Perez birdied #3 …so each of them won one skin for $38.
Then #4 and #5 were cut so Alex with his birdie on #6 (which I think was the chip or pitch in) won him 3 super skins at $38 each.
Then #7 was cut so the birdie by Richmond Tour’s Michael Mitchell had on #8 earned him 2 skins.
There were 3 birdies on #9 of the West so the Eagle Alex made on #10 or the first hole of the South was worth another 2 skins, so he bagged 5 total for $190.
As stated above, John Hill birdied #15 and got 5 more super skins himself for his lone birdie of the day freshly promoted to the A Flight after Deercreek.
Since Alex cut me on #16, Steve earned two supers with his birdie on #17.
And #18 was left open, so the Wheel of Destiny said Nick Wendell deserved the raffle for $38.
