Tournament Director Notes
First, I want to say thank you to all of you who took the time to wish me well on my five day recovery from COVID and congratulated me on my round at Fernandina Beach, both unexpected and genuinely appreciated.
Second, we are in our 4th year as Tour Directors and this weekend was the first event I missed, had to watch from home and help remotely. It was painful to my soul, but my hat tip goes to The Sheriff for sharpening his spurs and running the show with blazing saddles. As we all know, the unexpected can hit at anytime and just like the course conditions, we just have to adjust and buckle up. Your patience and flexibility is outstanding and I am proud of the community we are building.
Lastly, the winner’s pictures will be featured in the next email announcing one of the cornerstone stops of the tour next Monday. I need a little more time making your mugshots look pretty. A very special thank you goes out to Drew Flavell for his sponsorship at North Hampton, he picked out the beautiful trophy and he has a very cool business with the Golf Adapter Store. Check it out!
I am ready to rock and roll again, so let’s get into it…

CHAMP - While we don’t operate like the LIV Golf League to guarantee player contracts, there has been a mysterious absence in our roster that’s been noticeable in the first two events. Well, he’s back and when he brings his entourage it seems like we get the feel of a full field. “Lethal” Lance LaCombe made his season debut along with “Wyld” Kyle Dotson and tour veteran Craig Tomlinson. With Lance missing in action, Alex Dienes has capitalized by winning the first two events without breaking 80. So even with him back, Alex found a way to bowl for the turkey - win three in a row, break 80, and score eagles in back-to-back events! This is also the first time I have seen ‘The Sheriff’ Steve Calhoun look up in the Points Race in quite some time. What I like even more, is to see “Wyld” Kyle close out his round with a very hard birdie on #18 to sweep the remaining Rollover Skins and beat his buddy, Lance, for second place. We are only a month into the season and I can’t get enough of what will shake out the rest of the season.
A Flight - According to “Mr. Worldwide” Dan Yoder, he had a front row seat to quite a show put on by Andy “Bring Yo’ Best” Hovest. For a course that gave everyone fits, Andy found a way to make a great round when everyone started cold as ice. He was 5-over par in his first 5 holes and succumbed to a double bogey on the par 3 #7. After that he had a pretty clean card, 2 birdies ( #11 & #15 both for super skins) and finished to tie Alex for Medalist at 78 (+6). Really impressive Andy! He is great off the tee and when he is mistake free he is hard to beat, so bring your best! Daniel Reynolds takes his first podium for second place and a birdie on the tricky #9 earned him a super skin worth 3 rollovers! Way to go!
B Flight - My personal bodyguard, Mike “Punch-Out” Perez finally found his way back in B Flight and got himself into a duel with Sean Ingram. They were shot-for-shot what seemed like the entire day. Sean’s birdie on #4 gave him a lot of momentum and three rollover skins, but ultimately Mike kept his ball in play just enough to claim the victory. He edged out Sean by two strokes and took home the crystal decanter.
C Flight - My fellow Packer backer Joe Bushor, goes back-to-back and claims victory in consecutive weekends. He shot 88 and was the lone wolf to break 90 in his flight. Shannon Lambert and last week’s runner-up, Noel Dawkins, were nipping at his heals, but ultimately Joe held on to have his arms full of trophies at the end of the day. He ain’t your average Joe!
D Flight - Josh Gray and Jason Harris couldn’t get enough of each other last weekend in their epic playoff before the snow fell, so they decided to keep the heat on at North Hampton. Josh won at Deercreek, Jason won at Fernandina Beach and this weekend Josh was the only player to break 100 and take his second victory in three events. I really enjoy seeing rivalries develop in our tour and now these two might close to Celebrity Deathmatch level soon. Listen in on the Golfweek Am Tour Podcast and hear from Jason when it gets published!
Cash Game
$30
($18) Rollover Super Super Skins ($1 per hole)
*The game will start on Hole #1 and end on #18 all season*
Please note that LIVESCORE will not reflect the amount per hole skin value accurately, you will use the number of players in the game, if we have 39 players in the game then $39 is the amount each hole is worth.
The Sheriff birdied the opening hole for 1 skin worth $39
Sean Ingram’s birdie on #4 gave him 3 total skins for $117
Tampa Tour’s Dylan Lautanen birdied #5 for $39 and he won CTP on #17 for $40
Alex Dienes made eagle on #6 for only 1 super skin (don’t worry he took home plenty last weekend 😉
Daniel Reynolds’ birdie on #9 gave him 3 super skins for $117
Andy Hovest’s birdie on #11 was worth 2 skins and his birdie on #15 was worth 2 skins, so he won 4 total and $156.
Hilton Head-Savannah Tour’s Marty Finder birdied #13 for 2 skins worth $78
Then Kyle Dotson birdied #18 for the last 3 super skins for $117 and no raffles!
