Today didn't go as well as I'd hoped, an 80 wont get you into the Michigan Open. Swing was just a bit off today and will hope to get that back to where it needs to be for the Michigan Amateur Qualifier on the 27th. Hoping to secure a spot at Oakland Hills Country Club for the Championship.
Side note, these college kids sure do hit it far. Maybe I should start swinging harder 🫤..... Country Club of Lansing was in awesome shape.

Getting creative to dial in the wedges. An open space, a driving range mat, a range finder and some driveway markers. 56 wedge=87 54 wedge=97 yards. Had the 54 re-gripped today and will put it in the bag for Tuesdays MI Open Qualifier.

MICHIGAN’S RYAN BREHM MAKES ACE, LEADS ON PGA TOUR

A hole-in-one helped Ryan Brehm grab a share of the lead through the first round of the Valspar Championship at Innisbrook Resort in Palm Harbor, Fla., Thursday.
Brehm, a one-time tour winner originally from Mount Pleasant, aced the 17th hole on the Copperhead course, a 196-yard par 3. The 7-iron shot helped him to a 5-under 66 round that had him tied for the lead with Stephan Jaeger and Adam Schenk. Video of the ace is available at pgatour.com.
The former Michigan Amateur and multiple-time Michigan Open champion along with Jaeger had a one-shot lead on four golfers, including Jordan Spieth.
Brehm has 19 top-10 finishes in his career along with one PGA Tour win and two Korn Ferry wins. He has made just three cuts this season but stands 155th in FedEx points and has earned $386,045. He tied for 14th in the Honda Classic two weeks ago, and had two top-40 finishes early in the season.
“It landed almost at the hole and went in,” Brehm told pgatour.com. “It kind of surprised me a little. It sure was fun to see that thing trickle in.”
It was Brehm’s first hole-in-one as a member of the TOUR, and fifth of his golf career. It was the first he has made in front of his wife Chelsey, who is his caddie.

After 22+ years as a Golf Professional, I have made the decision to apply for reinstatement as an amateur golfer. This means I will have to “hang up my hat” as a golf instructor.

I want to thank the The Emerald Golf Course for letting me give lessons the last two years, while I built my new small business. The MI Golf Course Association Course of the Year will always be my home course! Thank you to College Fields Golf Club for the opportunity and 17 great years as a Pro.

I’ll keep this page going and will always be available for advice. Thank you to everyone who trusted me with their game. As much as I will miss teaching, I am even more excited to join you as an amateur and plan to play as many tournaments as I can get my hands on next year!

PS I’ll be 50 and moving up to the white tees 💪
