For a long while we would loose every game sometimes not even getting a goal. Sometimes some of the kids really got discouraged and did not want to play. They had worked so hard but as a team they really did not click. We met up with the Canucks and one of their coaches. He had one son staying in the younger division and the other moving up. Since most of his team had to move up we acquired a grea
t bunch of the younger ones. These kids added some life to the rest of the team and they all started playing a lot better and became very friendly with each other. As the winter came we decided to take the season off(we play outside). We did end up finding an indoor rink who was starting up a kids dek hockey league. Since the division was 5-10 we needed some older players so again we combined forces with the Canucks and created "Team United". The only bad thing about this one season was that the league was not honest with us and only had one other team in the division. This meant we had to play the same team every week.. We played really well against them and won a couple of games but they mostly took control of the season. These guys started to become our nemesis. Even the kids really wanted to beat them badly. We ended up only playing one season indoors and really grew as a team. We even picked up some new kids who stuck with it. Come the spring the divisions went back to the younger 5-7 and 8-10 groups. So the Coyotes were once again back. We started winning a couple of games and saw that these kids really were starting to get the hang of the game. Always still needing improvement we started have more practices at not only the league rink but at parks were we could find an area to play. The team started hanging out together and so did the coaches. We really started to click, everyone of us. We started winning games and it felt really good. Kids were more up spirt and you could see it. Our only one problem was the Panthers. The Panthers were the Flyers from the indoor league with a couple of new kids. They were tough. Very organized. And worst of all their coach was a DICK!!! These guys were beating other teams in the division 26-0. And the coaches would still be screaming at their players to "ATTACK"! Our first game against them we lost but the score was something like 3-2. REALLY close and good game. I think it scared them a little. We played them another one time during the regular season and there was a big issue which i will not get into but lets say the next time we played them all coaches from all teams were suspended. We ended up going to the championship game with them and again they beat us. Kids played real hard but just could not get it going. Poor kids. OK so now we come to the summer 2013 season. Again the league has to switch up the divisions because of not enough players signing up. So again we get some kids from the Canucks in the older division and even though we look like "Team United" we are the COYOTES. First couple of games we blow some teams away. We are looking real good. Kids are sticking to positions. They are starting to pass more to each other. They are really working like a team. Some games we don't have everyone so we have to switch up players into different positions where they are unfamiliar, But the kids adjust really well. We go half the season without a loss. Our goalie gets hurt. We have players fill in and we get the wins. Last game of the season and we have still not lost since the last time we played the panthers (who keep in mind are not playing this season). We win the last game of the season and go to the Finals. Kids are so excited, S**T us coaches were I think a little more excited. This team has lost so many times and has for a long time been on the other end of where they are right now that the only thing they I mean we can all think and hope is that we win it all. We start off the game and fall behind for a moment but then the kids just start playing the game they have been playing the whole season. We end up winning the game and the kids get to celebrate like the champs they all are. They all deserved this from the moment the season started. Us coaches and parents were and still are so proud of them and how hard they worked to get were there are. The season that is upon us now is the Fall 2013. The Coyotes have moved up to the next older division 8-10 because they had to. Unfortunately we had to leave some really good and skilled younger players behind. But we hope when they get older they will want to play with us. Again we are combined with the Canucks that had to stay behind because of most of them moving up to the older division. This year we got them Jerseys with their names and numbers and a Coyote logo. They look real sharp and look like a team. So far they are doing real good in the older division. Undefeated 5-0 and playing well together. Hope they have a good season. We can already see that the kids are bigger and a little more aggressive and some of ours are not being the first time in this division. But they will manage and work at it. They have since i have coached them. They are a great bunch of kids and they make a great team. OH YEAH AND WE BEAT THE PANTHERS THER OTHER DAY 5-3!!!! THATS UNDEFEATED 17 TIMES SINCE THE LAST TIME WE PLAYED THEM!! LET'S GO COYOTES!!!!!
