The Mighty Mac Swim grew to 400 participants and made the Straits of Mackinac an open water swimming destination., setting a new industry standard for safety in an otherwise often unfriendly and unforgiving swimming environment. Not currently in operation, the Mighty Mac Swim was placed prominently on the world stage where the event left an indelible mark.
