Beginning September 1, 2026, GRO Races will officially transfer management of the True Grit Epic Mountain Bike, Gravel, and Stage Race to Zia Rides of Albuquerque, New Mexico.

North Bound is more than just a ride. It is about experiencing nature. The Hunabyggð region has the most gravel roads in all of iceland. Therefore this course is 95% gravel.
The finish is through the Svartardalur ( the Black River Valley) . It is fast and fun. We chose this part of the route becuase we want you to finish with a big smile on your face.
The other great thing about Svartardalur, there is very little wind.
