READ BELOW FOR A BIG ANNOUNCEMENT!!!
Four years ago CIMA FC was founded by several coaches looking to provide a better soccer experience for the youth in St. George. They succeeded! Since those small beginnings CIMA FC has grown into the largest club in St. George and achieved great things both on and off the soccer field. We now have nearly 400 players. We have provided opportunities for players of differing skill levels to play and enjoy soccer. We won more league championships this past seasonal year than any other club. We continue to have more and more success at the tournament level as well. In fact, this past February two of our teams qualified for the Regional President's Cup in California. Despite this growth and success, we have never lost sight of our primary mission to help each player learn and love the game of soccer. Since 2016, no club has done a better job of helping more players learn and love the game of soccer than CIMA FC.
Our mission statement states: A player is most likely to learn and love soccer if he/she has a coach, team, and soccer family that shares the same level of commitment to the sport. There is no wrong commitment level to soccer. Our goal is to help players get what they want out of the game by placing them with the right coach and the right team.
We have players and teams of all skill levels in our club, from those just barely learning to pass a soccer ball to those with the talent to compete with the best players in the state, region and nation. CIMA has done a very good job of providing opportunities for many of our players, but there are still many players hoping to get more out of the game than our club has been able to facilitate. Our goal is to provide the resources and pathways for our players to achieve their soccer goals. To be successful we should have the ability to make our average players good, our good players great, and our great players elite.
In order to do this we have made some big changes:
1. We are proud to announce that Jonas Tanzer will be our Director of Coaching and Player Development. Jonas has an amazing soccer resume and will be a huge asset to our club. He has played and coached both collegiately and professionally, coached elite club soccer teams and most recently served as the recruiting coordinator and interim head coach at Southern Utah University. Welcome Jonas!!!
2. CIMA FC will be merging with FIRE FC! Fire FC was founded in 2002. Their goals are to strive to build quality players on and off the field. Fire FC's love for the game was born in this community and they want to continue to grow soccer in Southern Utah. With this merger we will be able to provide greater competitive opportunities for our teams and players. Both clubs have similar goals in providing players the opportunity to play soccer while keeping costs at a minimum. Club fees will remain the same at $150.00/seasonal year. Cima FC's club president Jason Hendrix will become the new Fire FC's club president. Kat Esplin will stay on as the Managing Director and Registrar. Cima FC's governing board will all continue to serve on the new Fire FC board along with several of the board members from Fire's leadership.
Our main objective as a club has always been to provide the best possible soccer experience for our players. We have tried our best to make sure our decisions are based on the question "What is best for our players?" We are very excited for these two announcements and feel strongly that these changes put us in a better position to meet the needs of all of our players. They also strengthen our club and add stability during a time of much social and economic uncertainty. These past couple of months have been challenging for us all, and we have greatly missed playing soccer but we are confident that soon we will be back on the field playing the game we love. Thank you for supporting CIMA FC these past 4 years and we look forward to many more wonderful years of soccer ahead!
