Welcome! Let me introduce myself…
Hi! My name is Andrea and I love the water - pool or beach it doesn’t matter. It’s my happy place and has been my whole life. I have a lifetime of experience in the water as a competitive swimmer, teacher, lifeguard and coach.
I love teaching children how to swim and I wanted to be able to teach babies and toddlers these life saving skills too, so last summer, I traveled to Longmont, CO with my family to certify as an Infant Aquatics® instructor. I completed an intensive hands-on six week training under the guidance of Judy Heumann, the creator/founder of the Infant Aquatics Survival® program.
The experience solidified my commitment to the swim-float-swim technique, which I firmly believe is crucial in teaching children ages 6 months to 6 years old to be able to self-rescue. It is my mission to bring this important skill to my community, where backyard pools and water sports are common. I believe strongly that learning water safety skills as early as possible is key to preventing accidents and creating a healthy respect for the water.
One of the most rewarding aspects of my job is not just teaching swimming skills, but also instilling a love of the water in my students. Every child should experience the joy and freedom that comes with being able to swim. I aim to ensure that every child can enjoy the water safely and confidently.
I am so happy you’re here! If you have any questions about IAS, please reach out. 💦
