A huge thanks to Patrick Kane and his dad for letting g me join their family trip to hunt pheasants. Always a pleasure to be in this guys presence. We had an absolute blast hunting North Dakota and shooting a limit of birds 3 days in a row. Great planning and ex*****on. Until next year…

Growing up in Louisiana and making a living off of duck hunting, it would be a lie to say this man didn’t make that possible. He and his boys built something off of hard work, faith in God, and the love for waterfowl so many of us share. He is a legend like so many other great hunters from Louisiana and a person who had his priorities in line. The world was 100% a better place with you in it Mr. Phil. Thanks for the laughs, the wisdom, and the entertainment. I remember sitting with my roommates Brad Livingston and Jordan Fabre waiting for the release of the newest Duck Commander video back in college. It wasn’t much longer after that when we cut our first video of our DDW series. I hope Heaven has wood ducks and mallards for you big dog. RIP.

Happy 12th birthday to my little black boy Bayou. This was possibly his last year to hunt (due to his loss of hearing) but it meant the world to me that it was on Hollis’s first hunt. This dude started his career as a member of our Duck Down Waterfowl team after retiring the dog in our logo two years earlier. He carried the torch very well and was able to make the transition with me from a professional hunter to a recreational hunter (weekend warrior).

I feel like I’m a pretty tough dude working my whole life in the Louisiana humid heat but this dude takes the cake. He is on top of this man-lift with 10mph wind, in -15F weather up here in North Dakota. This dude is on another level.
